Vintage Santa

Happy to say that I had time to make another Christmas card.  This vintage Santa is such a striking image; I love his old world charm.  I stamped the Santa then sponged on Distress ink to the edges to add to the vintage feel.  I used a distressing tool to rough up the edges of the paper before mounting it onto Christmas cardstock.  The gold twine picks up the colours of the bkg. paper.
I am adding my card to the Always Playing with Paper challenge (Santa).
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

A Basket Full of Goodness

Delicious, shiny, mouth watering.  Who doesn't love a wonderful fresh and crisp apple.  I am playing along with the challenge at Splitcoast today.  I found this free digital image, printed it out and coloured it with Copic markers.  I added Glossy accents to the apples to make them appear shiny.  I kept my card simple by adding a doodled border and sponged the edges with Distress ink.  For a finishing touch, tied a piece of twine on the basket handle.  I am also adding my card to the Seize the Birthday challenge and the CASology challenge (country...where we would go to pick apples).

Supplies:  stamps; Studio G, free digital (http://freevintagedigistamps.blogspot.ca/2012/06/free-vintage-digital-stamp-basket-of.html) /Distress ink/ Glossy Accents/ blackline marker/ Memento bl

Celebrate the Season

Saturday morning and I am happy to have had time to play along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast.  I knew I wanted to get out my poinsettia stamp from Penny Black and make a card; it is such an elegant stamp.   I stamped the poinsettia, coloured it with Copic markers and then cut it out so it could hang over the side of the card against the polka dot paper.  I added black half pearls to the center and pop dotted the flower panel against the dots.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Happy Friday.  Here is a simple and quick Autumn card I made using a digital stamp from MelonHeadz.  I printed out the pumpkins and coloured them with Copics.  I  added the stamped sentiment and then cut out the 'Pumpkin' sign so I could pop dot it.  I am adding this card to the Simon Says Challenge; (Halloween or Halloween colours), Keep it Simple; (Be inspired....Thanksgiving and the Autumn decorating inspire me) and the CASology challenge; (country).
Have a great day...thanks for popping by.

Happy Christmas

Just a quick, happy Christmas card I made using stamps from Paper Smooches and playing along with the colour challenge at Splitcoast today.  Never too early to start getting ready for the big day!
I stamped the tree top 3 times onto designer papers, then cut them out and layered them with pop dots onto my sponged bkg.  I stamped the stars, cut them out and applied Glossy Accents so they would shine.
Thanks for popping in and taking a look.

Life's Beautiful

A new week is beginning and I am grateful for all the wonderful people in my life that make life beautiful for me.
Here is a card I made inspired by the photo below from the iDesignMe site.  Simply masked the center area, stamped the circles then added the scoring lines on each side to define the center area.  Added the sentiment by adding pop dots.
Have a good week.

Shadow Art

Here is a card I made for the Inspiration Challenge today at Splitcoast from the iDesignMe site (pictured below) using the 'Magic Masking Tape' technique for the background which is easy to do.
To create the bkg., I rubbed masking tape onto my Distress ink green pads, then pressed the masking tape onto my paper and  removed it to transfer the ink.  I really like the distressed look it gave.  I then overstamped with a bkg. image and added the silhouette of the boy on his bike.  I think this would be a fun card to give a teenage boy.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.  Hope you get a chance to try this too.

Up and Away

Long weekends are great....more time to play in my craft room.  I played along yesterday at Splitcoast, the CAS challenge was to create a card using a holiday pet.  Well, everyone knows that Santa has pet reindeer that fly.
This card is close to the same one I made last week.  Heck, the dp was sitting on my desk so I got it out to use.  Simple and quick card, filled with lots of whimsy and fun.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

You are Special to Me!

Here is a simple, quick card I made for a the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast today.
The panel was a piece of leftover cardstock that I had inked by rubbing my Distress ink pad onto my non-stick craft sheet and spraying with water then dragging my paper through the wet ink.  I punched a circle at the top so I could stamping behind my pop dotted fish.
Hope you have a great weekend and thanks again so much for stopping by to take a peek.

Sending Prayers

Before I head out the door, here is the card I made for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast today from the Loverly site (inspiration cake below) and the CASology challenge "CRISP".  I seldom to never use digital images, but recently won some and wanted to see what I could do with them.  I printed the sentiment on my card then printed that out.  I printed out the snowman then cut him out and coloured him with Copics.  He is pop dotted on the front for a quick and easy card.

Sending Hope and Happiness

Happy Friday.  I don't know if it was just me, but this week seemed to be sooooo long.
I am here with a simple card today; playing along with the Free for All challenge at Splitcoast.
I used a 5 step stamp from Rubbernecker and my Memento markers to colour my stamps instead of my regular stamp pad.  I sprayed with water before stamping for a water colour effect.  I highlighted the sentiment by adding scoring lines beside it.
Again, I apologize for the darkness of the photo...don't know what is happening in Blogger.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.  Looking forward to a long weekend.  It is our Canadian Thanksgiving.

Santa's Calling

I guess it is never too soon to start making Christmas cards.  This one was a fun one to make...love this retro looking Santa with his cute little vintage phone.  I stamped the Santa with Memento black and popped that panel onto some fun designer paper.  I stamped the word bubble and added it with pop dots.
Hope you have a great week and hope to see you soon.  Thanks for popping by to take a peek.

The Sound of Laughter

Masks on cards.  You can mask an area and sponge on ink or add a twist like I did with this card.  I using scrap paper to mask off the center area then over that I applies a stencil and then applies green Distress inks over that.  It works just great as a backdrop for and silhouette image.  For a change of pace, I rounded the corners.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Happy Holidays

Yesterday was World Card Making Day.  It is such an exciting day for anyone who is a cardmaker.  This is a joyous hobby shared by so many around the world.  With use of the internet, we can share, encourage and become friends with many that we have never met before in real life.  It is fun to also watch the trends in the paper crafting world by seeing what others are doing in another part of the world.  I am truly amazed and inspired at the beauty others can create using a piece of paper.

Anyways, on to today's card.  It is a simple one using masking and a big stamp from a Stampin Up set I won.  I masked off the area, sponged on Distress inks, splattered water then stamped the big snowflake and added the sentiment.  I was inspired by a book from Barnes and Noble seen below.
I am adding my card to the Korttikarkuri challenge; Stamp a Happy Christmas.
Thanks so very much for stopping by and taking a look.

Oh Boy, It's a Girl!

Babies....ahhh....they smell so good, so fresh.  Nothing like the smell of a new baby.
I needed a baby card and the challenge at Splitcoast from the Barnes and Noble site was just the ticket. (book pictured below)

I printed this adorable free image from the MelonHeadz site twice so I could cut it up and pop dot it for interest.  I love her cute and fun images.
Have a great weekend and thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.

All Wrapped Up

(First, sorry for the dark photo of my card.  Blogger seems to be making my card darker when I upload it here.  If anyone knows why this is happening I would LOVE to know!!)

Ok, twine.  I love using twine......use it on most of my cards but today when I saw the Splitcoast challenge, to use ribbon, I thought a change was good.
I used this beautiful stamp from the Everyday Happiness set and stamped it on an angle on my card with Memento Pear Tart.  I added the ribbon and the sentiment for an easy card.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
