Christmas Magic

Here is the card I created for my interview on the Penny Black blog seen HERE
I masked the oval shape by cutting a piece of printer paper using a Spellbinder oval.  Next I stamped the new Splash of Winter tree and embossed it in white.  Then I rubbed on Distress inks and then added the sentiment from the new Christmas Cheer set.  Thought it needed something more so I added the piercing around the sponged image with a piercing tool and a piercing pad.
Adding this one to the Focal Point challenge at Moxie Fab.
Thanks for looking.
p.s.  I am being featured HERE today....what an honour!!

In the Summertime

Here is a card I made earlier this week for a few challenges.  The challenge at  CAS-ual Fridays ( banners and flags) and the Movement challenge at Moxie Fab
I started by stamping then embossing the Hillflowers from Penny Black.  I cut it out using a Spellbinders die then rubbed on Distress inks to add the feeling of a sunset.  I dropped water onto the main panel as well to leave a watermark effect.  Added the sentiment from Penny Black and the paper banners.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

OLW103, Scoring

Welcome...this is my first time hosting the One Layer Wednesday challenge and I hope you are able to play along!  For today's OLW, I challenge you to:

ADD SCORING to your card.

To create my card, I first masked the panel and stamped my Penny Black Hillflowers in black and embossed.  Next I rubbed on Distress inks in various colours and dropped some water for interest.  Since the Distress inks are water based, adding the drops leaves a small watermark behind.  Next I scored both sides with a ScorPal and then with my Scor-bug and added my sentiment.
I am also adding my card to the Focal Point Challenge at Moxie Fab.

Rules for OLW 103
1. Create a one-layer card.  That is defined as a single layer of card stock folded in half. No other layers allowed!
2. Make a card that incorporates scoring in some way.   Remember to keep embellishments to a minimum and NO ADDITIONAL LAYERS of card stock.
3. Post your card online and link it to the InLinkz button underneath.  If you link to your blog, please link to the specific post, not your blog’s main page.
4. HAVE FUN! I am looking forward in seeing what you create!

OLW102, Colourful Retro

So sorry for such a long blogging break.  I have been off this week and just can't seem to find my 'mojo'.  It does feel great to be back creating again and playing with my inks and stamps.
Today's card was created for the OLW102 challenge Arydth is hosting this week which is to create a card based on a subject you loved at school and for the challenge at Splitcoast...show us your colours and also the challenge at Moxie Fab; Movement.  As a child, I loved art class and painting.  I still remember the thrill of starting Kindergarten and painting for the first time!!  When I was older, we made tye dyed shirts one year and hence, my card.
I masked the edges so they would remain white and sponged Distress inks onto a mask from the Crafter's Workshop.  I added some additions paint drops from stamps sitting on my desk.
Hope you have a great wknd and thanks so much for stopping by.

Happiness is Fishing??

I have had little to no time to stamp this week although I have been off.  I did manage a card today for the challenge at Splitcoast, OLW101 hosted by Heather this week and also wanted to make a card for the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.  I wanted to create a one layer card (easy to mail) for my son who is a die-hard fisherman.  I started by masking the partial circle and then used a mask from the Crafter's workshop and sponged on Distress Inks in shades of blue for the bkg.  I then added the fish and the circle border.
Thanks for coming by and taking a peek.

From the Garden

Whew!!  What a week it has been.  My computer died and being without it was hard.  I am back up and running although many of my files are gone and photos need re-organizing.  Guess it's a good thing I am off work for the next 2 wks.  Anyways, here is my card for today.  I am playing along with a challenge at Splitcoast and a challenge at CAS-ology
My garden is filled with ferns...such a lovely plant.  I wanted to incorporate that into my card and did so by using the fern as a mask and spraying it with Mr. Huey mist.  I added some splatters for interest and the sentiment from Rubberneckers.  The piece was then mounted on a scored card front.
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look.
Have a great wknd.

Spots and Splatters

It's a simple one layer card I am showing today that was created for my continuing quest to add more masculine cards to my stash.  I made this one for the CAS challenge at Splitcoast.  I am still playing around with my new collection of masks....the side of this card was masked, sponged with Distress inks then over stamped with the Grunge Me set from PTI.  I also distressed the edges which I think adds to the overall look of the card.
Hope you have a great week and thanks for coming by to take a look.

Can You Hear Me??

Here is a card I made for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast and the Guest Designer Challenge at Paper Smooches.
I stamped the TV, masked and stamped one of the flower heads from the Perky Plants set.  Coloured them with Copics then added Glossy Accents to make the TV screen shine.  Added the sentiment behind in two different colours.

Congratulations in Silver

Here is my card for today.  I added it to the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast.  I am having fun playing with the masks I purchased and used the splat one to create this card.  I sprayed Mr. Huey silver onto the mask then overstamped with the Grunge Me dots.  It really shines IRL.  I rolled the roses to add to the sentiment from Paper Smooches.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

OLW99 - Sympathy Roses

Here is today's card and I am excited to share some big news.  My friend Susan at Simplicity has asked me to come on board as a new member along with the ubber-talented Ardyth Percy-Robb as well.  We will be part of a very talented team.  If you are unfamiliar with the OLW challenges,  they are to create a one layer card with a new twist every week.  My first challenge will be coming up on August 22...so fun.
So for today's card;  I am playing along with this week's OLW challenge...to find inspiration from Susan's Pinterest board of Pure Inspirations.  There is a card posted there that totally inspired me.  I am also adding my card to a few challenges at Splitcoast as well.
I created this one by masking the oval, stamping with an old SU set I have not used in ages and coloured with Copics.  I sponged on Distress inks and added the water droplets and the sentiment from Paper Smooches.
Thanks so much for stopping by....the long weekend is almost here!!

Thinking Happy Thoughts

Just can't believe where the week has gone but here is my card for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week: to use 3 colours...lime, aqua and navy;  Ways to Use it challenge at Splitcoast and a Blog Named Hero.  Very fun colours to work with!  I created the bkg by sponging colour onto a mask from the Crafter's Workshop then overstamping with the hollyhocks from Innovative Stamp Creations in navy.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
