Wishing on a Star

Here is a simple card for a simple Sunday.  I am playing along with the FS challenge at Splitcoast, the Simon Says Stamp challenge (Anything Goes) and the Addicted to CAS challenge (Take Flight).
I love gingham...so simple but makes such an impact.  I stamped the image so it would be on my gingham paper and partly on the white.  I added the sentiment from Penny Black and the twine.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Sending You a Posy

It's Saturday and I am playing along with a few challenges today; Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge, (pictured below), My Time to Craft (masking) and Simon Says Stamp; Anything Goes.  I started by choosing a green that was close to the colour of the dress.  On the square panel, I masked the edges then stamped the flower from The Alley Way several times.  I then stamped it again and punched it out with a circle punch to add to the side of my card.  I love the fresh, bright feel of the green.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look...very appreciated!!  Have a good one.

Life and Laughter

Happy Friday and welcome to a LONG WEEKEND for all of us that live here in Canada.  It is Canada Day on Monday and you gotta love an extra day!
I am playing along with 2 challenges today... Splitcoast; Think Big and Simon Says Stamps; Anything Goes.  I started my card by creating the bkg.  I applied my Distress ink pads to a non-stick craft sheet, sprayed with water then ran my paper through it.  When it was dry, I stamped over it with a bkg. stamp then added the large flowers and the sentiment from Rubberneckers.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

OLW146- Splats and Splatters

Welcome to another week for the OLW Challenge (One Layer Wednesday).  This week the challenge is:

Splats and Splatters- add them to your card

I love adding splats and splatters to my cards.  I started my card by masking the center area and sponging on Distress inks.  Next I stamped the ink splats (Recollections Stamps) and then splattered by pressing my Distress ink pad onto my acrylic block and picking up the colour with a water pen and flicking it onto my card.  When dry, I sponged on more ink, added the sentiment (Daisy Bucket) and scored the lines.
I am also adding this card to the CASology Challenge: free (What does free mean to you?  To me it means having lots of free time to play with my stamps and ink.) and Free for All at Simon Says Stamp.

I really hope you get a chance to play along this week.  Here are all the details:

OLW146 Rules

1.  Create a one-layer card.  This is defined as a single layer of cardstock folded in half.  No other
      layers allowed!

2.  Create a card that has splat and splatters on it in some way.  Add a link to your card.
Remember to keep embellishments to a minimum and NO ADDITIONAL LAYERS of cardstock.

3.  Post your card online and link it to the InLinkz button below.  If you link to your blog, please link to
the specific post, not your blogs main page.

4.  Have fun!  I am looking forward to seeing what you create.

Sending Comfort

I have been working in my garden; way behind in that department and it is filled with ferns.  They have such an elegant nature to them so hence my card with ferns.  I am playing along with the FS challenge today at Splitcoast.
I stamped the ferns then embossed them with white.  I then applied Distress inks in different shades of green with my inking tool then splattered water onto my piece.  Added the sentiment from Printworks.
Will be back on Wednesday as I am hosting the One Layer Wednesday challenge.  It's a good one so I hope you will come back for a peek.

Love Your Camera

Made is to the weekend.....sometimes it feels like a marathon.  I am playing along with the Inspiration challenge today at Splitcoast and the Addicted to CAS challenge; Teenager (I think teenagers take more photos now then ever since the camera is built right into their phones).  I saw the camera case below and made my card.  My card represents how much we love our cameras and depend on them.  How would we share with family and friends, have a blog or a gallery?
Very simple card.  I stamped the camera image (isn't it so cute!) across the bottom then cut one out so I could pop dot it.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.  Hope you have a great weekend and maybe get out to snap some photos.

Bring on the Summer!

Happy First Day of Summer!  We wait for it.....we look forward to it....we think it will never get here....YEAH.  Today I am playing along with the challenge at Splitcoast; A Quick One and the Simon Says Stamp challenge; summer fruits.  What better way to celebrate it then a nice sunny yellow glass of lemonade.
This is a new set from The Alley Way Stamps.  I stamped the glass but instead of pop dotting it, when I cut it out I left tabs on either side so I could round it and glue it to my card front.  I coloured it with Copics and decided to pop up the Squeezy.
Hope you enjoy a wonderful summery day where you are.  Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.

Chillin Out

Chillin out...that's what I plan on doing today.  Here is a card I made for the challenge at Splitcoast today and here is how I made it.  First I started by inking up my acrylic block with different shades of blue and green Distress inks.  Before stamping, I sprayed it with water to help the colours blend.  I stamped the flip-flops onto yellow gingham paper and cut them out so I could pop dot them onto the inked part of my card. Stamped this sentiment from Daisy Bucket that is so fun.
I am also adding this card to the CASology challenge; Yellow and the Addicted to CAS challenge; teenager.  It seems every teenager I see in the mall is wearing flip-flops these days.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

The Great Outdoors

Welcome to the weekend and I feel like I am scrambling to get everything done, so a quick card for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast today.   Great site to be inspired by (photo below) and since I had a piece of angle cut cardstock sitting on my desk leftover from the card I made the other day, I made a quick and easy card with it.
I stamped the trees so some would be on the angled piece and some off.  I sponged Distress inks onto my piece then mounted it with pop dots for a rustic looking card.
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

I Quite Like You

This morning when I checked out the challenge at Splitcoast; make a one layer card, I just knew I wanted to play along.  Also the challenge at Addicted to CAS, circles just inspired me to make this card.
I started by punching a hole so I could stamp the bright blue flower on the inside of my card.  I added the circle border and sentiment then went back in with a white Signo gel pen and added the dots to the center of the flower.  Easy and fresh.
Hope your week is going well and thanks so much for taking the time to come and have a peek.

Masculine Birthday

On my continued pursuit to create some 'masculine looking' cards, here is what I created.  For this one I used a big bkg. stamp from Local King Stamp (love the graphic look) and after masking the center section, stamped it on an angle.  I then added the sentiment and coloured the masked area with a Copic marker.  I added the scoring lines for interest and also coloured some of the squares to make them pop.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Happy Father's Day

With Father's Day quickly approaching I went looking for some inspiration and found the challenge at Splitcoast from the Emma Bridgewater site and saw the plate below.  I was ready to stamp as I love the repeated script and here is what I came up with.  Simple and masculine and easy to do with the clear stamp.  I am adding this to the challenge at Simon Says Stamp; Masculine/Father's Day.

Sending Sympathy

Welcome to the weekend.  Played along with the a challenge at Splitcoast yesterday; Field of Flowers. I really like to have some sympathy cards on hand and my stash needed to be refilled so here is a card I made using the watercolouring effect.  I used a set from Paper Smooches, inked with Distress inks then sprayed with water before stamping.  By adding the water, it gives a great  watercolour look to the stamped image.  The purple flowers remind me of the lilacs blooming in my garden right now.
I am also adding this to the challenge at Addicted to CAS; circles (I think it qualifies as the little flowers are circles).
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look and have a great weekend.

Supplies:  stamp; Paper Smooches, Stampin Up/ Distress ink/ mini mister/ pop dots

A Little Hello

I have to say I was sad to see the tulips in my garden go.  They have such a regal presence in the garden and seeing them in bloom confirms that Spring is here.  I created my card for the CAS challenge at Splitcoast; to use your piercing tool and for the Simon Says Stamp challenge; anything goes.  I began by masking the oval and sponging on Distress ink in blues.  I then stamped the tulips from Penny Black and coloured them using Copic Markers.  Added the sentiment then the piercing.  I like how the piercing adds a frame to the sponged area.
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

You Warm My Heart

It's Sunday morning and here is a quick card I made for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast today.  Simple and straight-forward.  The hot water bottle is coloured with Copics and then I applied Glossy Accents to the center heart to make it pop.
Enjoy your day and thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Bursting Out

Just a quick card today as I have so much to do but still wanted to play along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast.  That challenge is always so fun. Below is a photo of the tunic that inspired me.  I am also adding it to the Congratulations challenge at CAS-ual Fridays and Addicted to CAS- circles.
To create my card I first used my new die from Memory Box called Small Circle Burst to cut the sunburst then I stamped the circle portion with Distress inks and a stamp from WPlus9.
Have a great wknd. and thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
