Welcome
Today's card is another one I did using the Big Leaves stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and my Gel Plate. This is going to be an anniversary card for a friend who loves purple. I love using this stencil for creating so many different occasion cards.
So here are my card details.
Today's card is another one I did using the Big Leaves stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and my Gel Plate. This is going to be an anniversary card for a friend who loves purple. I love using this stencil for creating so many different occasion cards.
So here are my card details.
- I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock, my Gel Plate, some purple acrylic paint, a piece of acetate and my brayer. I find it helpful to have all my supplies ready when making prints with my Gel Plate.
- I squeezed out some purple paint onto my acrylic sheet and fully inked up my brayer by rolling it through the wet paint. Don't roll too much or you will end up removing paint from your brayer.
- I rolled the paint covered brayer over my leaf stencil, then rolled the brayer onto my Gel Plate.
- BE SURE to only roll over the stencil once and only once onto your Gel Plate for a good impression.
- I immediately rubbed my cardstock over my Gel Plate to lift the print.
- When it was dry, I stamped the sentiment using my Misti with some Versafine Clair Noir and clear heat embossed it.
- I added some splatters using my black Posca pen and added the panel to a piece of pale purple cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

ReplyDeleteThis is stunning!! I LOVE the deep purple you used on this. I LOVE that fun sentiment!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous leaves Karen and love this technique of lifting the pattern on to the brayer and transferring it on the gelli plate, and a fantastic print as the finished result. I love the purple and a great sentiment too. Your friend is bound to adore this! x
ReplyDeleteLoving your work with the gelli plate Karen - you are making some wonderful prints, and I think this is one of the best! A stunning card as a result

ReplyDeleteOne day [and I hope it's soon] we'll be able to drive back to Kitchener. When we do, could we get together so you can show me your brayer in action? lol
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed every time you use it, Karen ... this is so spectacular!

Absolutely love your card, the stencil and how you use the brayer. Can I ask is it a soft one? I NEED to get one and as a "specialised user" perhaps you could advise please?
