Poppies are such a true sign that Spring has arrived and hopefully here to stay. The poppies I grow in my garden are more pink but I love how these turned out so vibrant and fresh looking.
I am playing along with the CAS challenge at Splitcoast and also the Wonders of Watercolouring at Moxie Fab. Anyone that follows my blog knows how much I love to play with this watercolouring technique as it is so easy and gives such wonderful results.
I coloured my poppy stamp using shades of red Memento markers and then sprayed with water before stamping. That's it.
Have a great week and thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Supplies: stamps; Rubbernecker, Penny Black/ Memento markers/ pearls/ pop dots

one word: AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous, Karen. I also love poppies and watercolour. Your card is a stunning combination of the two.
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous, Karen, I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love this card. I know you said you colored the stamp and sprayed it, but then did you freehand the black lines around the petals? Or is it a 2 step stamp? Is the poppy a penny Black stamp or Rubbernecker?
ReplyDeletethanks -- it really is a lovely card. The splatters really "make" it.

Hi....it is a Rubbernecker Stamp and it is a 2 step stamp. So first you stamp the black line then over stamp with the flower petals. Hope that helps.
DeleteI love this card! I love the splatters and that you did them in 2 colours. Your watercolouring is perfect for this stamp image. Gorgeous work, Karen!
