Sympathy

Today I am playing with some new stamps I just got from Flonz Stamps.  I created a sympathy card for the TLC challenge at Splitcoast.  I like to have some sympathy cards on hand and ready to be sent.
This is an easy one.  I masked the center area with an oval then stamped the silhouette tree image then sponged on Distress inks.  I added the sentiment and thought it needed something so I pierced holes around the outside.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.  Hope you have a great week.

A Special Day

I'm back and playing along with the challenge at Splitcoast, the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World and the Seize the Birthday Challenge.
I am used my Penny Black stamps to create my simple card.  I watercoloured my flower using Memento inks and a water brush.  I scribbled onto my acrylic block then just picked up the colour and applied it to my flower, cut it out and pop dot mounted it for interest.
It is really a gorgeous day here....hope you can enjoy whatever you are doing today.

Summer Fun

It's Saturday and that means I am playing along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast today, Seize the Birthday Challenge and also the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
This card was a simple one; inspired by my son and his love of skateboarding and the t-shirt pictured below.  I started by using my Distress stain and getting the tip saturated with stain and then tapped it onto my paper to create the splat.  It is so fun to do especially if you love the look of the mixed media cards that I do.  I then added the stamping around it and the skateboarder image.
Fun card for a teenager I think.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look and I hope you have a great weekend.

Welcome to another week for the OLW Challenge (One Layer Wednesday).  This week the challenge is:
Life's A Beach- Anything beach or water inspired

Summer is here and I think we all think about how great it is to be at the beach.  My one layer card was made super quick and easy by stamping the bkg. from the Craft's Meow, first in blue then again in a sand colour.  I then stamped the pier and the birds from Gina K (love!), added the twine and done.

I really hope you get a chance to play along with us this week.  Here are the details:

OLW150 Rules

Happy 30th Anniversary

Today my DH and I reach a milestone....Happy 30th Anniversary.  I know we all say it but today I really feel it; where does the time go??  This is the card I made for him.
In my attempt to make it feel more masculine I stamped the grunge bkg. from Kaiser stamps in different colours then cut them into pieces so I could fit them together into a quilt-like pattern on a hand cut heart.  I thought the stitch line added a nice touch.   The sentiment is from the alphabet set by Paper Smooches.
Here's to looking forward to many more years together.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look!

Say Cheese!!

Here is a card I made for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast today, Seize the Birthday challenge (new to me) and for the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  For those of you that are unfamiliar with the FS challenge at Splitcoast, a stamper's gallery is chosen and we must case a card from that gallery and then change 2 things about it on our card.
I got this mask by Prima just a few weeks ago and wanted to play with it.  It reminded me of the gears of a camera so hence the bkg.  I sponged Salty Ocean Distress inks over the mask then flicked water onto the blue to give a mottled effect.  I stamped the sentiment then the camera was stamped onto designer paper and cut out so I could pop dot it onto my card.
I think this card would be really fun for a birthday.
Hope your wknd is going well and thanks again for coming by and taking a look.

Dragonfly Thanks

Happy Saturday and welcome to the weekend.  I had a few minutes this am to play along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast (charm link here).   I created the background on my card by inking up my non-stick craft sheet, spraying with water then dragging my paper through the wet ink.  When it was dry, I stamped the sentiment and then I embossed the top portion.  Lastly, I added the dragonfly that was stamped onto silver, cut out and pop dotted onto my card.
Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for popping in for a peek.

The Wonders of Water

Happy Friday.  So glad I had time to play along with the Free for All challenge at Splitcoast today; lots of dots.  If you have never stamped with water and Distress inks before, you should try it out.  You can get such interesting effects and you know how much I love to play.
I began by inking a piece of white cardstock with blue and green Distress inks.  I then laid a mask over the top and sponged water over it.  It left such an interesting bkg.  For my main panel, I sponged green ink onto a piece of white cardstock then stamped with a large bkg. stamp from Penny Black that was dipped into water.  When it was all dry, I stamped the fronds and sentiment in black.
Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.

Happy Hello

It has been such a crazy busy week and I didn't plan on playing along with the Ways to Use it Challenge today at Splitcoast (use chevrons) and the CASology Challenge (cool; chevrons are so cool and in style right now) so this card was a happy accident.  I just got this mask from The Crafter's Workshop in the mail today and I started to play with it by rubbing Distress inks over the top.  When I was done, I cut the panel up and TA-DA this card was born....gotta love that!!  Very simple with clean lines.
Thanks so very much for taking the time to come by and have a look.

Pow, Bam Congrats!

It's Sunday and I am just having fun playing with my stamps and playing along with a few challenges too.  Playing along with the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast,  The CASology Challenge (neon) and the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
Wanna get more mileage from your stamps??  This card show how you can do that!  The green splats were created by inking up the back of a clear stamp.  The clear will stick on either side to your acrylic block.  I love the look it created.  I cleaned the stamp after using the green, turned it over to the right side then stamped the explosion looking images in black right on top of the green.  You could use that technique for so many images.  The bkg. is a lined notebook page.
Enjoy your day and thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Natural Beauty

This card show how I love to just play around with my inks and stamps.  I decided to make a card for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast today (photo of the cake below); a card for the Little Red Wagon challenge (Monochrome) and also a card for the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  I stamped the ferns from Hero Arts then embossed them in white.  I then sponged on Distress inks in shades of green and then flicked white paint over that for a quick and simple card.  I added the twine to keep it more rustic and natural looking so it could be suitable for a male or female.
Thanks so very much for coming by to take a look.  I SO appreciate all your most kind comments and emails.  Hugs!!

Polka Dots

It's Friday already, where does the week go?  Here is a card I made for the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World and the CAS-ual Fridays challenge; to use polka dots.  I began by stamping the large birthday greeting from the Edge to Edge set from Penny Black.  I masked that area then using different coloured inks, I stamped ribbons and faux washi tape strips from the Embellishments set to create a fun card.  Lastly, I added the scored lines with my Scorbug.
Lots planned for the weekend.  Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.

By the Seaside

It's Sunday and who doesn't want to be by the water feeling the cool breeze on their face?  I can just smell the air now.  Anyways, I am playing along with a few challenges today, the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast, the Addicted to CAS challenge-water and the Little Red Wagon-CAS.
I started my card by first stamping the pier from Gina K then masked off the bottom part where the sand would be then rubbed on a brown Distress ink.  I moved the mask then applied blue Distress inks to the top portion of my piece.  I went back and splashed some water on the sand as well to add some texture.  When dry, I cut it into 3 pieces, mounted with pop dots and finally added the scoring lines.
Hope you have a great day and I appreciate that you came by for a visit.

Friendship

Hello Saturday!  I am playing along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast (top wallet pictured below), the Addicted to CAS challenge (water) and the Little Red Wagon challenge (CAS).  So, here is what I came up with.  I love the look of watercolouring so to create that effect on my card I inked up the flowers with Memento markers then sprayed with water before stamping to blend the colours.
Hope you enjoy a restful weekend and thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Field of Flowers

Today I am playing along with the Free for All challenge at Splitcoast.  I love blue (as I am sure you are well aware of by now) so I inked my flower stamp with blue Distress inks but before stamping, I coloured the centers with a darker blue marker.  I gave a little spray of water to blend and then stamped.  When it was dry, I added white dots to the flower centers with my Signo pen.  It was a short week for us here in Canada and I don't know where the time has gone.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Happy Canada Day

Happy Canada Day!

Here is a card I made for the CAS challenge at Splitcoast today (Summer fun).  What is more fun then sitting at the beach on a beautiful sunny day and watching the kids build sand castles.
My card is an easy one.  I created the bkg. first by rubbing ink onto my non-stick craft sheet.  I then sprayed it with water and gently rolled my paper into the brown ink first then the blue.  By bending the paper slightly, it helped to define the colours when I rolled it into the ink.  Next, I stamped the sand castle and coloured it using Copics.  I stamped the chair on a separate piece of cardstock and cut it out so I could pop dot it.  This is such a fun little set from Penny Black.
Whatever you are doing today, I hope it's a good day.
Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.
