Welcome 2014

New Year's Resolutions are everywhere.  I tend not to make resolutions but today at Splitcoast, the challenge is to make a crafting resolution for 2014.  I have been thinking about this one for awhile so my resolution is to use more of the dies that I have sitting in a box in my craft area.  I tend not to use them.  Guess I am either too rushed or too lazy to get them out.
I started my card by stamping the bkg. then coloured my stamp with Memento markers and sprayed with water before stamping onto my card front to give a watercoloured look.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it into a tag using my new die from Die-namics with a pierced edge.

Also adding this card to these challenges:

Did you make any crafting resolutions for the New Year?  I guess using what we already have is a good one although I did get gift certificates for Christmas.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Supplies:  stamps; Unity, BoBunny/ Memento markers and ink/ Die-namic tag die/ pop dots

  5. WOW, Karen! This is gorgeous…and some of my favorite colors you use so beautifully! I love you resolution! I have actually reorganized my entire die collection into nice storage boxes, so now I can actually see and find them all! Hoping to do the same myself and use them more! I love the colors and the gorgeous layout with that beautiful pierced tag die! Hugs, precious friend…and Happy New Year!

  9. Gorgeous as always Karen, especially love the 'pop' of colour from the flowers. Thanks for sharing with us over at Little Red Wagon this week and a Happy New Year to you.

  12. Beautiful card, Karen! Like the bkgrd and water colored flowers. One of my fav techniques is to color my stamp, mist, then stamp. In my opinion, that is the easiest way to water color. :) I had to laugh when I read that in 2014 you will try to use your dies more. I don't make actual "resolutions" either but I do have mental lists of things I want to do and things I do that I want to do better. One of my thoughts just today (Thurs.) was to use my die cuts more. They say great minds think alike!?! :D Heehee! :)
