Christmas Tag Event

As Christmas is getting closer, it's time to create a few tags to have on hand for the big day.

I am thrilled to be a part of my friend Loll Thompson's special
 Christmas Tag Event

What a fantastic line-up of guest designers she has for us this year.  Just amazing and inspiring tags for Christmas.  We want you to come and play along with us.  Make some special tags to add to those gifts this year.  There are some super prizes to be won as well.

Winner - $40 gift certificate from STAMPlorations
Top Three - $20 gift certificate each from STAMPlorations
Random Draw - $20 gift certificate from Happy Little Stampers
Random Draw - One Christmas stamp set from Dee's Artsy Impressions

To create my tag, I began by inking the background using Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans Distress inks.  Then I laid a stencil by Tim Holtz called Frayed over the inked bkg. and gently dabbed on some water.  The water lifted the ink and left a lovely impression behind.
Next, I splattered with white paint to give a snowy effect, then I also rubbed my Versamark pad along the edges and added white heat embossing.
The sentiment from Rubbernecker was stamped with black Memento ink and my MISTI and the die-cut snowflake from Lawn Fawn was done in silver to add a bit of sparkle to my tag.
The ribbon and tiny bells were from the Dollar Store.

I am adding my tag to these challenges:

Virginia's View- ADD TEXTURE

Craft Stamper- TAKE A STAMP

City Crafters- GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS

Happy Little Stamper- TAG

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.  I hope you will come and play along with us and be inspired.  I know I will be!

Supplies:  stamps- Rubbernecker/ inks- Versamark, Distress, Memento/ EB powder/ heat tool/ die- Lawn Fawn, MFT/ stencil/ applicator tool/ acrylic paint

  2. Gorgeous tag Karen. LOVE the background with the beautiful mix of blue, ghosting effect from your stencil with water, and the splattered white ... so much visual texture! And love the stitched tag with the stitched snowflake to match. The jingle bells add even more shine ... and a fun interactive element. Awesome! Thanks so much for Guest Designing for my Twelve Tags of Christmas event! xx

  8. Get Hard Again Review

The word, Electrolytes, has become a household word because a lot of people are familiar with all the currently popular sports drinks, but when you are sick, sugary drinks are the last thing your body needs. How do you build up your electrolytes? Wait. What ARE electrolytes and what is so important about electrolytes?

  12. Fabulous tag, Karen! Love that watery background, and the touch of white embossing around the edges reminds me when the windows used to get iced up from the inside in the days before central heating! So glad you've added it to the Craft Stamper gallery too :)
