Happy Saturday.
I just couldn't resist playing along with the Tim Holtz Mania Challenge this morning at Splitcoast Stampers.
As many of you know, I just love playing with inks and paint so I just went for it with this card.
(plus I just got this new sentiment by Impression Obsession I wanted to try out!)
So many of us love Tim's work and who doesn't love his Distress inks and stencils and stamps and .... the list goes on and on.
For today's card, I began with using my long acrylic block. I sprinkled Brushos onto it, one colour at a time, sprayed with water and dragged it down my card front. I repeated that process using different colours being sure to leave some of the white peeking through on the background. When I was happy with the colours, I set it aside to dry.
Next, I put the sentiment inside my MISTI and stamped it with black Memento ink. The MISTI is such a handy tool to use when stamping over a painted bkg. because you can repeat stamping if the first pressing is not dark enough.
The flowers are from a new set by Tim that I stamped with more Memento black ink.
I added some splatters to the background as well to add some interest and more depth.
I am adding my card to these challenges:
Seize the Birthday- ANYTHING GOES
TIME OUT- MASCULINE
with OPTIONAL TWIST OF MIXED MEDIA
My Time to Craft- SUMMERTIME
Alphabet Challenge- 'I' FOR INK IT UP
Simply Papercrafts- ANYTHING GOES
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Hope you get a chance to get inky too!

Since I love Brusho-s, was excited to see this splendid card and a new way to apply the crystals. It's a marvelous background and really do love the most apt sentiment. Great card, tfs, and I saw it on FB. Thanks for posting your link so I could easily pop over and enjoy an informative post!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen ~ I don't have Brushos but I do have Ken Oliver's Color Burst so I imagine I could use them in the same fashion. Love the multi-textured look to your card. Thanks for sharing your awesome technique.

ReplyDeleteOh my! I love the up and down motion of the background. Should I admit that I thought the word "louder" was "launder" and I *definitely* live by that word. ;-)
