Celebrate with Flowers

 Good Morning.
I love it when you can get a different look when using your stencils just by adding some colour with a paintbrush.  That's what happened with this card; the flowers look like they have been stamped instead of stenciled.
I got out my stencil from STAMPlorations and tried to figure out how to keep all the stenciling to one side of my card front.  I did that by placing the stencil on my paper and then masking areas off and moving the stencil around.  That way, I could get the flowers exactly where I wanted them to be.
I used Shaded Lilac and Salty Ocean Distress inks to stencil my flowers and Peeled Paint for the stems.
I went back in with some ink that I rubbed onto my acrylic block and watercoloured the flower centers with a paint brush.  To add additional interest, I took some white acrylic paint and splattered it over the flower centers.  I was pleased at how they turned out.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Penny Black in the bottom corner.

  1. Oh, Karen! This is absolutely GORGEOUS! It's one of my favorite cards with the beautiful color of these flowers! Wow! The softness and how you've used this stencil - it's amazing! I recently purchased it and am going to have to try this. I LOVE the results! You continue to knock it "out of the park," my friend! Big hugs! xoxo
