Marbled Flowers

I'm back today with a card I made using some of the leftover marbled paper I made last week.
In case you missed it, I hosted a tutorial about how to marble paper over at Splitcoast Stampers.
I used some as backgrounds and had some pieces left so that's how this card came about.
You can find the tutorial and cards here and here.

So, on to today's card.
I stamped the flowers from Stampin Up onto the marbled paper, fussy cut them out and set them aside.
I wanted the panel on the background to match so I rubbed Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and a touch of Barn Door Distress inks onto my long acrylic block, sprayed with water and dragged it over my piece of cardstock.  The colours blended nicely and I had a backdrop for the flowers.
When that was dry, I stamped the sentiment from Penny Black with Memento ink and clear embossed it.  I glued the panel onto a scored background and then glued the flowers over that.  I added a black gem to the flower centers and some die cuts behind for interest.

Adding my card to these challenges:

  25. When things quiet down for me I'm going to set aside time for a Karen technique day. I love how you created the background and by fussy cutting the flowers there's no white edge which makes the flowers pop off the card.
