Valentine

Happy Saturday!!

Meet today's simple card.  I don't make a lot of Valentines but wanted to play with the new sentiment set from Penny Black called Friendship and Love.  I just love the curly font!

I just recently got some new alcohol inks and wanted to try them on Yupo paper to see what I could come up with.  Yupo paper is a synthetic paper with a unique surface that many different mediums can be applied to with unusual results everytime.
I dropped the inks on the Yupo, then placed a piece of plastic wrap over the piece and set aside overnight.  When I removed the wrap, it revealed this gorgeous piece of inked paper.  The rich colours are amazing.  I fussy cut out the heart then placed it over the scored card lines.  I made those by using my Scorbug and my ScorPal.

Adding my card to these challenges:

Craft Stamper Magazine- ANYTHING GOES

Crafty Gals Corner- ADD A HEART

Stampin Royalty- VALENTINE

Brown Sugar- ANYTHING GOES

Penny Black and More- ANYTHING GOES

Have a great weekend and a big thanks for coming to take a look!

Check out my friend Loll Thompson's video for more inspiration.

Supplies:  stamp- PB/ ink- Memento, Alcohol Pinata/ Scorbug/ Scorbug/ Misti/ plastic wrap/ pop dots

  16. Beautiful! Would love to know which colors you used. I've gone through a giant roll of plastic wrap since I started playing with it with my various inks and sprays. Unwrapping them is always a fun surprise!

  17. This is dramatic and gorgeous! I bought two pads of Yupo and haven't tried it yet. Alcohol inks used to be my favorite medium, but I haven't used them for more than a year, I think. I will certainly try this! (I used this technique with ink sprays...but only during the summer when I could dry them quickly in the sun.)
