Treasured Memories

Morning.
Today I am playing with one of my favourite flower stamps by Rubbernecker called Flowers in the Breeze.  It is a fun layering stamp and easy to use to create a field of flowers.
The sentiment is a new one to me by Verses called Love Becomes a Memory and today was the day it needed to see some ink.

I began by placing the flower stamp into my Misti, coloured directly onto my stamp with my Zig markers, sprayed with water and stamped onto 120lb watercolor paper.
I repeated that process, using a darker shade of the red for the second stamping.
I then stamped the leaves and stems and let it dry.
I placed the sentiment into my Misti, inked with Archival ink, stamped and embossed with clear just to help it pop.

Layered Flowers

Happy Saturday!
Meet the card for today.

This is a new stamp layering set I just picked up from Altenew called Watercolor Wonders.
This set is beautiful and was originally inspired by watercolor paintings by a Japanese artist named Akira Mineeda.
At first, I must admit that I felt a bit intimidated when I saw all the stamps in the set but when I saw the guide sheet included on the back, I started to play around with it and was pleased with the result.

I began with my usual heavy weight cardstock and placed it inside my Misti.  Following the guide, I started with the largest stamp, inked it with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, gave it one spray of water and stamped.
I repeated that process for the next 2 layers which were stamped with Picked Raspberry then Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Riley and Company that I have had in my stash but have never used with black Memento ink.

In the Forest

Good Morning.

I've been super busy so was happy to be able to get a card made using this great stamp from Hero Arts.  Super simple to create the look with this stamp.

I began by colouring directly onto the stamp using my Zig markers.  I gave it a good spray with my mister and stamped.  I took some addition ink and a wet paintbrush and moved some of the colour around being sure not to cover up the white tree areas.
I set that aside to dry and cut the stitched frame from a piece of heavy white cardstock.
I mounted the piece behind the frame and pop dotted that over a piece of coloured cardstock.

* I have been asked a few times what kind of cardstock I use.  My go to is a heavy 120lb paper that I get in bulk from my local Scrapbooking store.  It is ok for doing some stamping applications as long as there is not too much water involved.  I find if I add too much water, the paper will pile up.
Hope that helps.

Coming to Life- CAS Watercolour Challenge

Time for another card for the

http://caswatercolour.blogspot.ca/

Spring is almost here although the weather where I live still feels like winter.

Today, I am playing with this wonderful new stamp from Penny Black called Awaken.  If you enjoy colouring or watercolouring you will love this image.
I began by stamping the image using Versamark ink then white heat embossed on watercolour paper.
Using my Zig makers, I coloured in areas of my flowers then used a wet paintbrush to watercolour them in.  When it was dry, I cut it out along the outside edge.
Next, I placed the Penny Black sentiment from the Happy Wishes set, inked it with black Archival ink and stamped.
I pop dotted my card front over a piece of dark green cardstock to help the cut edge flowers show up.
Added 3 pearls to finish my card off.

Blue Skies- The Flower Challenge

Good Morning.

It's time for another card for

http://theflowerchallenge.blogspot.ca/

You still have time to play along so come and check out the amazing cards and join us.

For my card, I began placing the flower stamp by Unity into my Misti, inked it up with Adirondack Currant ink and stamped.  I clear heat embossed the flowers then inked my background with Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress inks.  For some reason, the embossed flowers ended up having a bit of a halo around them which I loved.
To add interest to my background, I laid a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop over my inked background and randomly sponged with water.  The water lifts the Distress inks which are
water-based.  I also randomly stamped the text from Hero Arts over the background with Faded Jeans Distress ink.
I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment by Studio G then finally splattered with water and white acrylic paint.

Smile Time

Meet today's card.
Great to use as a masculine card and super simple to create.

I began by placing the clock face stencil by Tim Holtz onto a piece of white cardstock and rubbed on Peeled Paint Distress ink.  I wanted to add more depth and interest to the clock faces to make them stand out more so leaving the stencil in place, I stenciled over just the faces with a piece of drywall tape and Faded Jeans Distress ink.
I placed the Smile sentiment from Impression Obsession inside my Misti, then stamped using Memento ink.
I like when a card comes together so simply and quick.

For You

Good Morning.

Simple card today.  Haven't played with my Brushos for awhile now and it was time.

This Shattered glass stamp from Local King is such a great one to use for watercolouring or Brushos.
I began by stamping the image with my Misti and Versamark then white heat embossed.
I sprinkled on Brushos, sprayed with water and left it to dry.
I die-cut the Just for You from Penny Black and rubbed it with Stormy Sky Distress ink roughly to give it a bit of a distressed feel.
I glued the die-cut onto my card front then mounted the piece on a stitched border piece of white.

Birthday Bouquet

Meet today's card.
I am always inspired when I pick up a new stamp set and that is how this card came about.
This sweet little set from Lawn Fawn is called Fab Flowers.

I seldom to never buy new inks but decided to try out some of the ones from Lawn Fawn now that they come in the little cubes.  I have to say that I was very happy with how well they stamped.

I began by placing the flowers inside my Misti.  Since this is a layering stamp set, I stamped with the lightest colour first then added the darker over the top placing my flowers randomly in the corner of my card.  Those inks gave really nice, bright coverage and were great to work with.
Next, I inked up the birthday sentiment from Stamping Bellas with Versamark ink and stamped it onto a black strip of cardstock and white heat embossed it.  I placed that over my bouquet using pop dots.
I added a few pearls for interest.

Blooming Time- The Flower Challenge

Good Morning.

Time for another fun challenge at
It's an Anything Goes theme this month.

I created a sunny, yellow card for the challenge.

I began by using this great flower stencil from STAMPlorations.  I rubbed Squeezed Lemonade and Mowed Lawn Distress ink over the stencil and removed.
I took my Zig markers and coloured in some of the open areas then using a wet paintbrush, watercoloured in those areas.
I place the Live Each Season sentiment by Serendipity Stamps into my Misti, inked with Archival black ink and stamped.
To add more interest and depth, I sponged on some more Squeezed Lemonade along the edges and splattered with some orange.

Springtime- CAS Watercolour Challenge

I can't believe it's March already and that Spring is on our doorstep...can't wait.

So that means it's time for another challenge at the
Great theme this month....Spring!

http://caswatercolour.blogspot.com/2017/03/cas-watercolour-march-challenge.html

Playing with a new stamp for me from Technique Tuesday called Cosmos.
I reminded me of poppies so I decided to colour them red.
I placed the stamp inside my Misti, stamped then heat embossed with white powder.
I added a touch of colour to the flowers using my Zig markers then used a paintbrush to paint them in. It is so easy to get a watercoloured look using them.
Next, I die-cut the window using the Rectangle Peek a Boo die from MFT.  The stitched edges add such interest and framed out the image so well.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Mama Elephant using my Misti again.
