One for the Boys

Morning.
Meet today's card.
I haven't made a 'grunge' type card for quite awhile so today was the day.

I enjoy challenging myself to walk away from the flower images that I so love and try to create a masculine card.  This is what I came up with.
I was inspired by a great stencil I just picked up at Scrapfest too and wanted to use it.
I began by stenciling half my card front using Distress ink.  Next, I placed the bike images into my Misti, inked with Archival ink, stamped twice to get a dark black silhouette image and clear heat embossed.  I love the feel of motion these great stamps from Flonz have.
Next, I used the Graffiti stamp and the same colour of Distress ink to stamp around the images.  I thought it all worked well together.
I stamped the birthday sentiment and now I will have a great card on hand for one of my masculine friends that loves to bike.

Adding my card to these challenges:

Simon Says- ANYTHING GOES

Little Red Wagon- BOY BIRTHDAY

Seize the Birthday- ANYTHING GOES

The Male Room- MANY LEGS

Watercooler Wed.- MASCULINE ANYTHING GOES

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Have a great week ahead.

Supplies
Stamps- Bike images (Flonz), Graffiti (Kaisercraft), Happy Birthday (Studio G)
Ink- Rusty Hinge Distress (TH), Archival black
Paper- Strathmore Bristol
Accessories and Tools- Misti, inking tool (TH), clear eb powder, heat tool,
Gear stencil (Southern Ridge Trading Comp)

My card got this nod:

  2. Karen, this is such an awesome card! The images are, of course, wonderful. They evoke the joy of movement on bikes for which boys all over the globe are known. But what makes those images pop is that wonderful background. Love the variations of colour you've used in the stencilling and the stamping. Someone is going to love getting this card. Thanks so much for joining in with our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
