Morning.
Today I am playing with some lovely stamps from Penny Black, my Zigs and of course some drywall tape.
I really like the whimsical look of these roses from the PB Flower Medley set. They are very fun to watercolour and there are a few different flower varieties in that set with the same qualities.
So onto my card.
I began by stamping the roses around the edges of my watercolour paper using my Misti and black Memento ink. I added some colour at the flower centers with my Zigs, then using a wet paintbrush I pulled the color into the flowers. While that dried, I die cut an oval using a die from Spellbinders and stamped the sentiment from the Happy Wishes sentiment set onto it.
Keeping with my pink theme, I pulled out some Spun Sugar Distress ink and using some drywall tape, stenciled onto my card front.
I continued the stenciling onto my oval die-cut then pierced the edges for interest.
The last thing I did was add some Nuvo clear drops.
Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look!

ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful Karen. Love these whimsical roses. Such bright vibrant colours that looks amazing on the soft pink background. The drywall tape is just perfect for adding a little bit of "extra" here and there. And I love your design with the popped oval sentiment. I am now heading off to add this stamp set to my wish list. :) xx

I am definitely going to have to get some drywall tape - such an great backdrop to those sweet flowers!
ReplyDeleteSuch a bright clean card! I used to have drywall tape in colors called Magic Mesh, probably 10x as expensive since it was for crafters. I gave it up as it attracted too much cat hair (hairy cards, anyone?!)
ReplyDeleteAnother Beautiful card, I LOVE your modern style, with colour and super design always.
