Beautiful You

Good Morning and Happy Saturday!

Meet today's card.
I'm feeling happy that I had time to play this week.

One of my favourite technique to play with is Stencil Monoprinting, so that was my starting point for this card.
I love this new Bo Ho Medallion stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and wanted to ink it up.
So here's what I did.
I began with my stencil and inked up the back with some Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and some Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks, sprayed with water and pressed onto my heavy white cardstock.
I lifted my stencil and set the piece aside to dry.

** Helpful Hint:  after I lay my wet, inked stencil onto my paper, I lay another piece of scrap paper over that and use my brayer to get a good inked impression **

When the bkg. was totally dry, I placed the piece inside my Misti and stamped the flowers and the sentiment with a darker shade to help it pop against the stencil background.
I simply mounted it onto a plain white card front for a clean and crisp look.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Hope you have a creative weekend.

  7. This is such a cool idea Karen, I've never heard of anyone inking the back of a stencil before but it makes total sense and the outcome is stunning. Love how you used a darker blue for the stamped images and they are more solid, really makes them stand out and add more interest. Always wonderful to see your creations at TIME OUT!
