Meet today's card.
I have been playing along with the DTGD Challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers. This yearly event (Dare to get Dirty); is hosted by them every year as a big thanks to all their members.
Each day for a week, new challenges are posted and we are encouraged to create a card based on that theme. There are many great prizes at the end of it all as well. Even if you don't want to play along, check out the amazing inspirational cards and mixed media creations made by their members. Just incredible.
So onto my card.
I decided to try my hand at creating my version of a plaid, using my acetate inking technique.
I decided to try my hand at creating my version of a plaid, using my acetate inking technique.
I rubbed some Peacock Feathers DOX ink onto my sheet of acetate and sprayed with a bit of water. I held the acetate sheet folded, then pressed it onto my paper, creating the lines of colour.
I repeated that process using some Peeled Paint DOX as well spacing the inkings out as I went along.
I dried it with my heat tool then placed the piece inside my Misti. I inked up the flowers, stamped them and the sentiment. I added a bit of stencilling to the edges using the Simple Grid Stencil using some more of the Peacock Feathers. It just added an extra touch of interest.
I mounted it onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto a plain white card base.

How pretty Karen and love the blue and green inks and the grid stencilling to the background with the lovely wild flowers over the top in black and a great sentiment too. x
