Snowy Woods

Hello and Welcome.
I've been working away trying to get some holiday cards done.
This is a new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Tree Ring that I just had to play around with.
This is what I came up with.

I began by spraying the back of my stencil with some Pixie Dust spray and placed it over my white cardstock.  Next, I took some Hickory Smoke, Frayed Burlap and Weathered Wood DOX inks and rubbed it over my stencil.  I removed the stencil then placed the piece into my Misti to stamp the Trees from IO and the sentiment from Penny Black.
I splattered it with some water to lift some of the ink then splattered again with some diluted white acrylic paint to give a snowy, winter feel.
I simply mounted it onto a heavy white card base.
I think this card has such a peaceful feel.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

  13. Another fantastic stencil, Karen. LOVE that you've used it behind your stand of trees. The colours are really gorgeous and perfect for a masculine card, although could be used for anyone. Adding the water and white splatters really adds to the scene. xx
