From Me to You- CAS Watercolour Challenge

Welcome
So glad you popped in for a visit.

This is my reminder card for the

You still have some time to come and play along too!

This month we are creating using Cool colours.
Here is a sampling of them:

We also want to welcome our Guest Designer this month:

Here are my card details.
I just picked up this lovely bkg. stamp called Winter Floral Mix from SSS and wanted to play with it.
So, I took a piece of heavy white cardstock and placed it into my Misti.  I inked up the stamp with some Versamark ink, stamped and white heat embossed.
Next, I took some Brushos and a wet paintbrush and watercoloured in the image.  The stamp is technically meant to be a Christmas image but I love that these 'cool' colours make it look less like that.  I mounted the panel onto some white.
To add some interest, I dry embossed another piece of cardstock and added some scored lines as well.
I pop dotted my stamped panel over that and added the sentiment.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Adding my card to these challenges:

Think I need to check out that background stamp for one thing, and I just love the blue and green Brusho's you water colored with over the white embossing! And the dry embossing behind the image is a perfect finishing touch! Lovely, lovely card!! :0)

  2. The colors are just lovely. I didn’t realize it was a Christmas stamp until I read what you had in the post. It totally just looks botanical when you did it like this. TFS!

  7. I didn't see that as a Christmas image when I first looked at your card - so that's a great multi-purpose background stamp. Love the rich blues and greens of the brushos. Great strip of dry embossing behind it to add texture and interest.

  8. I just love looking at ALL your cards but super appreciate that you give simple, well defined directions of how you accomplished your cards. Unfortunately, even with following your great directions mine never look quite the same but it just means I get to play more.

  11. Gorgeous mix of colours for your background over the white heat embossing, Karen. What a great background and it does not look like Christmas images. You've done a great job of stretching the use to make this an any day image. Love the dry embossed background for added texture and dimension. xx

  15. I need to try this technique, Karen. It looks so cool, pardon the pun. ;) I have trouble using Brushos so I'm hoping using them as paints will help me.
