You still have some time to come and play along too!
This month we are creating using Cool colours.
Here is a sampling of them:
We also want to welcome our Guest Designer this month:

Here are my card details.
I just picked up this lovely bkg. stamp called Winter Floral Mix from SSS and wanted to play with it.
So, I took a piece of heavy white cardstock and placed it into my Misti. I inked up the stamp with some Versamark ink, stamped and white heat embossed.
Next, I took some Brushos and a wet paintbrush and watercoloured in the image. The stamp is technically meant to be a Christmas image but I love that these 'cool' colours make it look less like that. I mounted the panel onto some white.
To add some interest, I dry embossed another piece of cardstock and added some scored lines as well.
I pop dotted my stamped panel over that and added the sentiment.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

You are SO talented Karen...absolutely LOVE this card! Think I need to check out that background stamp for one thing, and I just love the blue and green Brusho's you water colored with over the white embossing! And the dry embossing behind the image is a perfect finishing touch! Lovely, lovely card!! :0)
ReplyDeleteThe colors are just lovely. I didn’t realize it was a Christmas stamp until I read what you had in the post. It totally just looks botanical when you did it like this. TFS!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty Karen, love the green and blues, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning card Karen - love it! the drama od the colours is fabulous behind the white embossing

Beautiful card, your backgrounds are just amazing, hugs, Lori m
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful with those bold colors.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see that as a Christmas image when I first looked at your card - so that's a great multi-purpose background stamp. Love the rich blues and greens of the brushos. Great strip of dry embossing behind it to add texture and interest.
ReplyDeleteI just love looking at ALL your cards but super appreciate that you give simple, well defined directions of how you accomplished your cards. Unfortunately, even with following your great directions mine never look quite the same but it just means I get to play more.
ReplyDeleteWow..Stunning heat embossed stamped bg image, Karen. I love your Brushos watercoloring. Beautiful and does not look like a Christmas stamp at all. TFS my friend. Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeletewoooo, Karen! I love this card! And it's not CAS at all (IMHO) - OH SO GORGEOUS! hugs, de
ReplyDeleteGorgeous mix of colours for your background over the white heat embossing, Karen. What a great background and it does not look like Christmas images. You've done a great job of stretching the use to make this an any day image. Love the dry embossed background for added texture and dimension. xx
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Karen! Love the watery colors and how the white embossed flowers and foliage stand out from it! Such a lovely card, my friend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Karen, I love the mix of colours through your white embossed flowers :)
ReplyDeleteThis card is truly gorgeous Karen, I'm loving that new stamp and your beautifully 'cool' Brushos watercolouring... that hidden little bit of embossing is brilliant and finished with a standout sentiment... fabulous, hugs Robyn
ReplyDeleteI need to try this technique, Karen. It looks so cool, pardon the pun. ;) I have trouble using Brushos so I'm hoping using them as paints will help me.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the Christmas stamp Karen and no it doesn't need to be only for Christmas. Great showcasing of the stamped image and what glorious colours too x.
ReplyDeleteFabulous stamp here Karen and what stunning results you achieved with the Brusho's. Nice simple sentiment to finish.
ReplyDeletePS Also Thanks for sharing at ATSM.
