Welcome
Meet today's card.
I tried out a 'new to me' technique that was really fun. It was a challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers called Camo Fun....you take one stamp and repeatedly stamp over your panel with different complementary colours. So fun with so many possibilities.
So here's what I did to create my card.
- I began with a piece of white cardstock for my card front and positioned the Marvelous Deckle Rectangle Mask from A Colorful Life Designs over it. I love these masks for creating a card with a clean, white border.
- I got out my Simon Says Stamp set called Amazing. It has so many different shapes with great sentiments. I chose this dot circle to create my background. I began by inking it up with some Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink, then continued stamping with some Peeled Paint and lastly Peacock Feathers until the panel was covered.
- When I was happy with the stamping, I splattered using my black Posca pen and sponged around the edges before removing the mask.
- I dried the panel with my heat tool, then placed it into my Misti. I rubbed it with my anti-static bag, then stamped and clear heat embossed the sentiment from the same SSS set. Such an encouraging set of sentiments in that set.
- I glued the panel onto a heavy white card base, then added the 3 black gems.
This card is going out to a special friend who has worked so hard all during this pandemic and is now taking courses online while still working. I think everyone can use all the encouragement possible during these difficult times.

ReplyDeleteHi Karen. I'm behind in my blog visiting and catching up slowly. I really like this effect! I have the mask, no stamp like that but I do have a stencil that would work. It makes a lovely background and would be fun for me to practice with the mask. I'm sure your friend will love it and appreciate your encouragement. xoxo
