Welcome!
Meet today's card.
I was asked to create some cards for New Grandparents so I was up to the challenge.
It also gave me a chance to play with this wonderful Cloud Edger stencil and mask from A Colorful Life Designs....so fun to play with!
So here's what I did to create my card.
- I started by cutting my card front panel with some heavy white cardstock. I got out the Cloud Edger stencil and my Distress Oxide inks. (Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple, Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Dusty Concord)
- Beginning at the top of the panel, I applied ink using my blender brushes inking heavy in some areas and lighter in others along the edges of the mask. I kept moving the mask down my panel using the above mentioned colours until I reached the bottom.
- Using my white Posca pen, I splattered the whole panel and set aside to dry.
- I die cut from the center of the panel with this Spellbinders die (I'm sorry I have no idea what it is called).
- The sentiment was computer generated, then die cut with the same die I used to cut from the panel.
- I fitted and glued the die cut piece back into place using pop dots and then pop dotted the sentiment over that.
- It was all glued onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Here is the Cloud Edger mask I used.

ReplyDeleteI love the rainbow of colors in the clouds. Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteSigh. I have been a very good girl about buying anything "artsy" these past 12 months. But your rainbow clouds pushed me over the edge, Karen! LOL I thoroughly LOVE the ombre color effect, and then, I love the fact that the timelessness of the sky is especially meaningful to grandparents in general. What a fabulous creation! So yes, I did use your discount code and treated myself to some stencils. I can hardly wait until they arrive. Karen, even though I am unable to leave a comment to most of your posts these days, I treasure every example! You ALWAYS inspire me, and happy-up my day with your beautifully hued artwork! hugs, de
