Sun and Surf

Hello and Welcome
A new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs means fun.
I am loving this one... Sun and Surf Circle, such a great feel for summer.

So here's what I did to create this simple card.
  • I began by cutting a piece of white cardstock and placed the Sun and Surf stencil over it securing with some low tack tape.  I masked off the sun at the top from the bottom using the same tape.
  • Using some Distress Oxide inks, I began by inking up the sun at the top.  (Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and Barn Door)  When I was happy with the inking, I removed the tape and replaced it to mask off the water.
  • Using some more Distress Oxide inks (Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean) I inked up the water.  I splashed some water over the water to lift some of the ink and give it a more watery look.
  • I removed the stencil, dried the ink then using a circle die, I cut it out.
  • I placed the circle into my Misti and stamped the small sun you can see at the bottom of the rays.
  • I rubbed the piece with my anti-static bag, then stamped the sentiment from Technique Tuesday then clear heat embossed it.
  • I pop dot mounted it onto a square card (4 1/4 x 4 1/4) and added 3 black gems.
