Welcome
Meet today's card.
A fun and simple one for the holidays and trying out another fun technique that is new to me.
So here's what I did to create my card.
- I began by cutting a piece of heavy white cardstock to use as the front panel. I tore little pieces of masking tape and randomly stuck them to the bottom portion of the cardstock panel being sure to leave some texture when applying the tape.
- Using a brush, I covered the tape with Gesso to seal it and securely adhere it to my card panel.
- When the Gesso was all dry, I painted on some white acrylic paint over the tape to give the illusion of snow.
- When all was dry, I got out some Distress Oxide inks (Salvaged Patina, Faded Jeans, Broken China) and rubbed them over the top of the card where there was no tape. (You can see where some of the Gesso and paint went past the tape and resisted the inks making it look more like an iceberg)
- I splattered using my white Posca pen then let that dry.
- I stamped the Polar bear in my Misti, fussy cut it out and add some colour using my Copic markers.
- The white splatters had dried, so I stamped the sentiment with some Versafine Clair ink in my Misti and clear heat embossed it.
- I mounted it onto a heavy white card base and pop dotted the bear over the snow.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
