Welcome
Meet today's card.
A very simple one featuring this stencil called Big Fat Drops from ACLD and this fun silhouette image from Technique Junkies.
I thought it was a fitting card since we have had sooooo much rain here where I live and my little kiddos just love going out and splashing and dancing in the rain.
So here's what I did to create my card.
- I began by creating this simple background using my Gel Plate. I pressed my Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide pad directly onto my Gel plate near the top. Leaving some spaced between, I pressed my Peacock Feathers DOX ink right underneath that then I brayered the colours together creating sort of an ombre effect.
- Next, I laid the Big Fat Drops stencil over the Gel Plate and using the end of a paint brush handle, I gently pushed against the stencil to get good contact.
- I lifted off the stencil and rubbed a piece of white cardstock over the plate and lifted the print. It had a fun, watery look to it which is what I wanted.
- I splattered with some diluted Mermaid Lagoon ink to help with the feel of the raindrops.
- When it was all dry, I placed the piece into my Misti and stamped the image and the sentiment.
- I glued it onto a piece of blue cardstock, then black to tie in with the black silhouette images, then onto a white card base.
Here is the stencil I used:
