Welcome
Learn to pause...what great advice for all of us who rush through life on a daily basis.
Fall is such a wonderful time to do that too. Being out in nature right now is so wonderful.
So I decided to play with this new stencil called Layered White Oak from A Colorful Life Designs inspired by all the Fall colours happening right now. This is a 3 part stencil, it includes a stencil, leaf mask and outline mask. There are so many different ways to use it.
So here's what I did to create my card.
- I pulled out my Gel Plate again (hope you aren't getting sick of my talking about using my Gel Plate). I rubbed on some Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin and then in the center, some Barn Door Distress Oxide inks and brayered the colours together.
- I laid the White Oak stencil over my plate, pushing gently to get good contact between the plate and the stencil. Like I have mentioned in the past, I use the end of a paintbrush handle to do that, you don't want to use anything sharp on your plate.
- I carefully lifted off the stencil and rubbed a piece of white cardstock over the plate to lift the print.
- Using my black Posca pen, I splattered some black over the background.
- When the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz along the bottom using some Versafine Clair ink.
- I glued a piece of matching cardstock onto a white card base, then used foam tape to attach the panel to the card base.
Here is the stencil I used:
