Hope for Ukraine

Hello and Welcome
Throughout our card making community, we wanted to show support for the struggles and injustice that the Ukrainian people are now having to suffer through since Russia has attacked.
To do that, we have been making cards that represent the colours of their flag, yellow and blue, or their national flower that is a sunflower.
I tried to represent both in the card I made.

So here's what I did to make my card.
  • I began by cutting a piece of white cardstock and placed it on my Waffle Flower Stencil mat.
  • I positioned this newly released stencil from ACLD called Mum mat over my cardstock and inked it up with some Mustard Seed Distress ink, right in the center of the flowers.
  • When I was happy with that inking, I used some Salty Ocean DOX ink to cover the rest of my stencil, filling the cardstock.
  • I removed the stencil and added the white splatters using my Posca pen.
  • While the panel dried, I die cut the letters 'PEACE' twice using an alphabet set from Scrapbook.com.  I glued them together for more stability.
  • When it was dried, I glued the stenciled piece onto some white cardstock, then onto a white card base.
  • Finally, I glued the PEACE letters over the flower.

Here is the stencil I used:
