Flurries

Good Morning

It's October already which means time for some great new releases at A Colorful Life Designs.
This new release will definitely get you into the spirit of creating some cards for the holidays with a large variety of stencils and a great new stamp set too!
Today's card features the new stencil called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I decided to use the Flurries stencil as a stamp for my background.  I inked up the largest stamp from the Paint Swatches stamp set from Simon Hurley with some All That Jazz ink, then pressed the inked stamp onto the stencil to transfer the pattern, then stamped that onto my white cardstock base.  I love the look of the rough edges!
Here is the stamp I used to transfer the image from the stencil

  • I used my white Posca pen to add some dots to the center of the snowflakes and set aside to dry.
  • I stamped the snowman from the Christmas stamp set did a bit of colouring on it with my Copics, then fussy cut it out.
  • When the panel was dry, I put it into my Misti to stamp the sentiment to one side so there was enough room for the snowman.
  • I glued the panel onto a blue background, then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop up the snowman to the side.

Here is the stencil and stamp set I used:

  3. This is a clever way of transferring the stencilled pattern, together with the background blue ink, to the background of this pretty Christmas card Karen, and love the added stamped and fussy cut snowman you put over it, and the black stamped sentiment is great. x
