Congrats- Crayon Rubbing

Good Morning
Can I just say how much I love the versatility of stencils.
I am always ready to see how many different ways I can use them too.
Today's card is a first for me, trying something different using this new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I've been on a mission to use some of the cast offs in my stash and I came across this one that I did while Gel Plate printing.  I had used some pink acrylic paint on my Gel plate to create the print that just didn't work out the way I wanted at the time.
  • So for this technique, I placed the Petit Four Dainty stencil down onto my Make Art station first, then placed my Gel plate print over the top of it
  • After securing it well, I took a purple crayon and rubbed over the top of the whole panel to reveal the stencil design. I was very pleased with the results.
  • I stamped the sentiment with some Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink and cut that out.  I glued it onto another piece of white cardstock just to give it more strength.
  • I glued the card panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then on a piece of pink and then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I used some foam tape to add the sentiment.

Here is the stencil I used:

  1. This is an interesting idea using this very pretty pink toned gelli print and a purple crayon to impress the pretty stencil design..a bit like brass rubbing I think, and it works brilliantly, and the violet ink coordinates well for the stamped sentiment over the top, and the pink mat in the background frames it beautifully Karen. x
