Botanical Print

Welcome to the weekend.  So happy I have time to play along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast today.  I took my inspiration from a Botanical Print.
I just love this stamp from Penny Black...so easy to work with.  I started by rubbing Distress ink onto a honeycomb mask from the Crafter's Workshop then stamped the hillflowers and the sentiment.  Finally I rubbed some more ink on the edges to add the distressing.
Hope you get time to do something you love to do today.  I find this time of year to be so inspiring.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Supplies:  stamps: Penny Black; hillflowers; smiling / Crafter's workshop/ Distress Inks/ twine

Fall Blessings

Happy Friday!  This week just flew by and I need to get going and make a few cards for our Thanksgiving which we celebrate here in Canada on October 8th.  Playing along with 2 challenges today.  The first on is at CAS-ual Fridays...Toot Your Own Horn; to create a card inspired by your blog header and the second one is at Splitcoast; Fall Leaves
Keeping it simple, I stamped the circles from Inkadinkadoo then overstamped with the sentiment.  The leaf from Penny Black is stamped with Versamark, embossed with white then Distress inks rubbed on and tied with a piece of baker's twine.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

OLW107- Masking

Welcome to another week for me to be hosting the OLW (One Layer Wednesday).  This week I am challenging you to:

create a card using a MASKING TECHNIQUE

I don't have any sympathy cards on hand and they are sometimes difficult to create at the last minute so here is what I came up with.  For my card, I picked a fern from my garden then laid it onto my cardstock.  I tried to flatten it out a bit then I sprayed using Mr. Huey's colour mists and added a few flecks for interest.  Last I stamped the sentiment from Stampin Up for a quick one layer card.

Don’t forget about the Gratitude Campaign! See Susan’s blog for details.

OLW107 Rules

1. Create a one-layer card.  That is defined as a single layer of card stock folded in half. No other layers allowed!
2. Make a card that incorporates masking in some way.   Remember to keep embellishments to a minimum and NO ADDITIONAL LAYERS of card stock.
3. Post your card online and link it to the InLinkz button underneath.  If you link to your blog, please link to the specific post, not your blog’s main page.
4. HAVE FUN! I am looking forward in seeing what you create!

Everything Rosy?

Hello my friends.  So sorry I have been MIA but it has been such a busy time with no a Snippet of time to craft.  I did get time to play along with a few challenges today at Splitcoast.  One was the CAS challenge..a sketch and the other was a TLC Make Polka Dots which are kind of hard to see on my card but I added them onto the leaves.  Today is also the last day for the big challenges going on at Moxie Fab so I am entering this one in the Focal Point challenge.  The stamp set I used for the flower is from Stampin Up and the sentiment is from Stampotique.  Used Distress inks to colour the flowers and added the scoring and washi tape as well.
Hope you are having a great Monday....I am just so happy to have time to stamp.
Hope you can come back on Wednesday for the OLW as I am hosting this week.

As Summer Fades

Happy Sunday.  The weather here has been lovely all weekend...sunny, mild.  It is hard to think that summer is fading away and it will soon be fall.  My card is inspired by the colours of fall.
I am entering this card in a few challenges; the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast, the OLW105 Autumn challenge at Cheryl's blog and the Focal Point challenge at Moxie Fab.  I masked the panel and then sponged on Distress Inks before stamping the Queen Anne's Lace with black and added the sentiment.
There is a weekend challenge going on at the Penny Black blog you will want to check out.  Some nice prizes to be awarded.

Incoming Wishes

Phew!  It has been a crazy week and no time to create so today I was happy to find my mojo and make a card.  I stamped the bunny from The Cat's Pajamas and paper pieced his parachute.  I coloured him with Copics and pop dotted him for interest.  The border is from Stamping Bellas.  I am adding this one to the Movement Challenge at Moxie Fab.
Looking forward to the weekend and really hoping I have some extra time to play.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Shadow Monster

Happy Monday!   Here is a card I made using the new Shadow Monster stamp from Penny Black.  It was so fun and easy to create with.  I stamped the image, embossed it with clear and then coloured it using Copics.  I sponged the edges being sure to leave more white space around the little trick or treater so she looked highlighted.  I am entering this one in the Focal Point challenge at Moxie Fab.

Being Grateful

Hi there...hope you are enjoying a great wknd.  I am playing along with a few challenges today.  First one is the Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast; the Asymmetry challenge at Moxie Fab; the CAS-ual Fridays challenge to emboss and lastly the Gratitude Campaign-OLW this week hosted by Susan.  Whew!
Since our Thanksgiving here in Canada arrives in early October, I thought it would be a good time to get started on creating a few cards for that.
First I stamped my Penny Black stamp called Berry Red, Snow White in black and clear embossed.  Next I sponged on Distress inks and since I embossed I could rub away the excess from my image so it stayed nice and crisp.  I added a line of scoring and my sentiment from the new set called Gratitude.
Thanks so much for coming by to have a look.  I am truly GRATEFUL to you!

Lifting Your Spirits

Here is a card I made for the Colour Challenge at Splitcoast today...to use grey, brown and green and the Focal Point challenge at Moxie Fab.  I am loving this postage die so I started by stamping the birdfeeder and then cut it out with the die.  I then sponged on Distress ink while the paper was still in the die.  I coloured the birds with Copics, added the sentiment and then pop dotted the whole panel.
Hope you have a great week...thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Geeky Best Friends

Here is a silly little card I made for a special friend.  This image from The Old Island Stamp Company always makes me smile.  I altered it a bit by drawing on the glasses.  The girls dresses are paper pieced and the rest is coloured with Copics.  The score line is done using a Scor-bug seen here:

Many Thanks

Here is today's card as I am playing along with the Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoast and the Repetition challenge at Moxie Fab.  This card came together quickly and I was pleased with the final results.  I stamped the spools then cut them out so I could wrap the twine around them.  Added them over the dots for interest and the sentiment I had in my stash works great with these images.
Hope you have a wonderful Sunday and thanks so much for dropping by.

My Friend

It's the long weekend and I can't believe where the summer has gone!!  How can that be?
Here is the card I am showing today...getting ready for the Fall to arrive and school to start on Tuesday.  I used the new Foliage Fancy from Penny Black for the leaves.  They are really neat because there is a solid and and an outline for each leaf in the set.  That gives you so many options in using that set.  For my card what I did was stamp the outlines first randomly around the outside of my card and then embossed with white powder.  Then I took the solid image and applied various colours of Distress inks and sprayed with water before stamping on top of the outline.  I was very pleased with the colour variations I was able to achieve.  I added the lines and the Friendship sentiment to finish it off.
I am adding this to the Movement challenge at Moxie Fab.
I hope you enjoy a wonderful wknd. and thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
