Happy Saturday.
Today, I am being inspired by the challenge at Splitcoast called 'Inspiration Within'....be inspired by one of your own previously made cards. Here is my card that inspired me and I wanted to play with my Bisters again of course.
So here's what I did. Once again, I created the background using Bister (a paint medium) but in different colours. This time, I covered the whole background by tapping the Bister all over my watercolour paper then spraying with water. I just love watching the explosion of colour come to life.
When that was dry, I stamped the flowers from the Pretty Petals set from Penny Black with black Stazon. (Don't forget to ink your stamp with Versamark first for easy clean-up). Next, I had to figure out how to colour the flowers since they were stamped over a painted surface. So first, I coloured the flowers with a white Signo pen to cover up the painted background then coloured over that using Copic markers. It ended up giving a very unique! look to the flowers.
I am adding my card to these challenges:
CASology- SPRING
Just Us Girls- SPRING
Time Out- CAS WITH YOUR OWN TWIST
(cas using Bister)
The Mixed Media- FLOWERS
Sister Act- ANYTHING GOES
Thanks again, for taking the time to visit. I appreciate it so much.
Supplies: stamp- Penny Black/ Bister/ Signo wh pen/ Copics/ Mini Mister
These are gorgeous Karen especially the blue one - but that is only because blue is my favourite colour.

ReplyDeleteStunning card Karen. What colour of Bisters did you use. You are really making me want this product but it is really difficult to locate. I have been looking but do you know if it is here in Canada.
ReplyDeleteAmazing colours on this card Karen. Love seeing all your bister cards ... each one is so beautiful. Great idea to colour the flowers with white first. I know that Susan Bri just did a card and she used bleach to lighten the area before colouring ... both great ideas! Loll xx
