What's better then a cozy, warm sweater on a cold winter day?
We got snow last night!
Meet today's card. The pattern reminds me of a sweater. The stamp is from Simon Says and I just love seeing it done in red and white....so classic looking.
Today, I am being inspired by the challenge at Splitcoast and a Pinterest board of vintage buttons.
Here are the buttons that inspired me:
I began by stamping the middle panel with Versamark and heat embossed it with white. I masked that area off and rubbed on Fired Brick Distress ink. I removed the masked and stamped the panel 2 more times using the same Fired Brick DI. I then scored the top and bottom to define and add interest to the stamped area then stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches across the top.
I die-cut the snowflake from Spellbinders and added it to my card front with a red pearl.
I am adding my card to these challenges:
Less is More- HOMESPUN
Simon Says- DIE CRAZY
Shopping Our Stash- LET IT SNOW
Christmas Cards All Year Long- CAS
As You Like It- FAV CHRISTMAS COLOURS
Christmas Cards All Year Long- CAS

Hope you are staying cozy and warm.

So that's how you did it? I wondered if it was a different stamp that made the red background in the middle. I have this stamp and will definitely be CASEing your card, Karen.

Beautiful design, one that of course for us this time of year we would be considered mad to be wearing (over 43 degrees centigrade today) but I can admire from afar. I love how you have used it on this card.
ReplyDeleteSo festive - love the Nordi idea.
ReplyDeleteLove the Nordic finish, just perfect.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas and Happy New Year.
Oh my, Karen, this is stunning! The red and white are fabulous, and I couldn't find this stamp. Is it retired? just love the way you've used it. I too had to think about how you did the "reverse" image with the embossing and sponging of color. Gorgeous, and I wish you a very blessed Christmas. Been keeping a low profile these days! But sending warm hugs!
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous! I adore it! xxx
