Good Morning.
Meet today's card. I love to watercolor with my Brushos, so when I saw the watercoloring challenge this morning at Splitcoast, I was in!
Penny Black has some great new releases that I just received and wanted to play with.
I began by masking the edges of my white cardstock with painter's tape, then stamped the flowers from the newly released set called Floral Fusion with Memento black ink.
I like to lay down some water on the petals I want to paint first. I find it helps the color take to the paper and it helps with blending and varying the color values.
I sprinkled some Brushos onto my paint palette, wet the tip of my brush and then touched the Brushos to pick up some powder. You don't need a lot of water, just a few drops. I touched the center of my flower first, then without adding more color, pulled the paint into the other areas of the flowers. You can see from this closeup that the colour is more intense in the flower centers and less in other areas. This is achieved by just using one color of the Brushos.
I painted in the leaves then painted in a blue wash on the background.
The sentiment was stamped with black Memento ink and is from the Penny Black set called
