Pink Florals

Hello and a Big Welcome.
Do you ever feel like you have lost time and energy because you have been too busy?
That's me the past month so now I'm trying to get back into the groove of things.

Meet today's card.
Yes, I made sure I stepped away from the blue today.  Sometimes I just can't help myself.
Playing with a new stamp from Penny Black called Summer Dream which is just perfect to use with one of my favourite techniques.
I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and some Post-it Tape.  I tore the tape to give me an uneven edge to my finished card and rubbed it in place.  I placed the piece into my Misti and then coloured the flowers with my Tombow markers.  I coloured, sprayed with water, stamped then repeated that process until I was happy with the coverage.
When that was dry, I sponged the edges using some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink and then splattered on some water to lift some of the colour.  Using the same ink and a piece of drywall tape, I did a bit of stenciling in the background.  Love the depth and interest such a simple detail can add.  I stamped the sentiment from the PB Smitten sentiment set.
I removed the tape masking the edges and simply mounted the piece onto more white cardstock.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

  10. Very beautiful. I ‘m glad you mentioned which tape you use, because I don’t do making much because my tape always seems to tear the paper. I may have to try the post it stuff. TFS!

  15. Karen, you do pink as beautifully as blue! Love this, and just received a wonderful Unity red rubber stamp that might work well for this technique... hope to try my hand at it. Thanks for always showing us how it's done!

  16. Lovely shades of pink - perfect for that flower. And beautiful background sponging and stenciling too. Although blue is my favourite colour, so I love all your blue cards, this one really appeals to me too.

  18. Beautiful card Karen - gorgeous stamp and colours. The dry wall background adds so much interest. I had to buy some after seeing one of your cards using this product. Lucky the Lady at our Bunnings store knew what I was after as it isn't called that here.
