Hello and a Big Welcome.
Do you ever feel like you have lost time and energy because you have been too busy?
That's me the past month so now I'm trying to get back into the groove of things.
Meet today's card.
Yes, I made sure I stepped away from the blue today. Sometimes I just can't help myself.
Playing with a new stamp from Penny Black called Summer Dream which is just perfect to use with one of my favourite techniques.
I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and some Post-it Tape. I tore the tape to give me an uneven edge to my finished card and rubbed it in place. I placed the piece into my Misti and then coloured the flowers with my Tombow markers. I coloured, sprayed with water, stamped then repeated that process until I was happy with the coverage.
When that was dry, I sponged the edges using some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink and then splattered on some water to lift some of the colour. Using the same ink and a piece of drywall tape, I did a bit of stenciling in the background. Love the depth and interest such a simple detail can add. I stamped the sentiment from the PB Smitten sentiment set.
I removed the tape masking the edges and simply mounted the piece onto more white cardstock.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
