Snowy Day- CAS Watercolour Challenge

Hello and Welcome.
I'm back with another card for the

Our theme this month is 'WINTER'.

This month we welcome our guest Janet from Swanlady Impressions.  Please check out the wonderful cards created by these most talented DT's.

I received this wonderful stamp from SSS called Snowflake Outlines for Christmas and wanted to play with it.  It is such a great stamp to add colour over and I love the simple design.

I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and placed it inside my Misti.  I inked the stamp with some Versamark and pressed onto my cardstock.  I sprinkled on some white embossing powder and heat set with my heat gun.
I decided to use my Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Crayons to add the colour.  I really like them as they apply similar to a pastel but are water soluble.  So, I rubbed the crayons onto my non-stick craft mat, diluted them with a wet paintbrush and then smooshed my embossed snowflakes into the wet ink.
I like that they seem to hold the colour intensity a bit better then using the Distress inks after being diluted with water.
When the bkg was totally dry, I splattered it with some white acrylic paint to add to the snowy feel.  I added some pink gems then I stamped the sentiment using my Misti again and glued it over the snowflake.
I mounted it onto a plain white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
