Good Morning and Welcome.
Today, I am playing with a beautiful stamp from Penny Black called Blossom Branch and some Weathered Wood Distress Oxide ink.
I began by placing an acrylic mask from A Colorful Life Designs over my white cardstock as I wanted to be left with a clean, white border. I placed the stamp inside my Misti, inked it up with some Weathered Wood DOX, sprayed with water and stamped. I dried the piece a bit, then I coloured directly onto the stamp with some black and a hint of blue using Memento markers, sprayed with more water and stamped again. The blue and black added some great detail to the flower petals. I sponged the edges very lightly with some more Weathered Wood.
Before I cut the piece down, I used my ScorPal to score a border around the edges to help define the stamped area. I glued the piece onto some grey cardstock and pop dotted that over a dry embossed background.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

ReplyDeleteWow. Stunning card! So beautiful the color choice as well! It just works!
ReplyDeleteTotally lovely & elegant card! Interesting using Weathered Wood DOX...a color I do not have, but now might try out.
ReplyDeleteI would not have thought to use these colors on this stamp, Karen, but I LOVE the results! I love how the clean, crisp white frame and scoring highlight the design. The background embossing adds even more interest!
ReplyDeleteLove this. Just beautiful! I thought it was the Altenew washi tape at first, then realized that the floral is much too big to be from the washi. The color combo is amazing together. So classy!
ReplyDeleteSo very gorgeous and that is an awesome color used for these flowers.
ReplyDeleteWOW! LOVE this beautiful image watercoloured with a monochromatic scheme. So soft and elegant. The scored layer adds a lot of interest and texture to the card. The design is perfect with your gorgeous main panel, two gray frames and the scored mat. Fantastic, my friend! xx
ReplyDeleteLove the colour of the weathered wood DOX and what a pretty flower stamp image. The grey and the dry embossing looks fabulous too and what a striking card x.
ReplyDeleteThat truly is an elegant card! I love the colours you used and must remember them as they would make the kind of subdued elegant sympathy card I like to make.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Karen!
ReplyDeleteKaren you make this sound so easy to create - it is exquisite, and I love the muted colour palette
