Good Morning and Welcome.
Time for another card for
This month we are being sponsored by Altenew and you still have time to play along for the chance to win a lovely stamp set from them.
So onto my card.
I began with a white piece of heavy white cardstock and rubbed on some Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide inks, blending the colours together until I was happy with the coverage.
**My camera refused to show purple, so sorry if your think the colours look different from the ones I have listed!**
I dried the inks with my heat tool then rubbed over it with an anti-static bag to help with the embossing.
I placed the piece inside my Misti then stamped the Sketchy Florals with some Versamark ink and embossed with some white powder.
Using a Versamark pen, I coloured in the flowers and added some clear embossing powder and heat set those. You can't see from the photo the amount of shine they have, but it's really lovely.
I splattered the whole piece with water to lift the ink. As you can see from my card, the ink was only lifted in the bkg and not over the flowers where they had been embossed.
I die cut the sentiment 3 times and glued them together so they would be raised up over my card front then glued them over the flowers.
I simply mounted it onto a white card base.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous thank you card, Karen, especially with those deep blues and purples against the stark white! Lovely! hugs, de

ReplyDeleteAnother fantastic and beautiful card design.
ReplyDeleteOH! another so very striking card Kate, I love the white embossing over the purple, isn't it a shame the camera doesn't like purple on many occasions.

ReplyDeleteSuch a striking card! And isn't it frustrating when your camera stubbornly refuses to be reasonable?!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Karen, isn't it frustrating when the camera just won't cooperate:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning card Karen - and yes, the camera doesn't seem to like purple, I have noticed that repeatedly!

So beautiful, Karen. What a great idea to use the VM pen rather than having to mask the flower before spattering water.
ReplyDeleteLove how you clear embossed the flowers on your vibrant and glorious card x.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I love your new blog header and I apologize in advance if it's old..LOL Next, your card is splendid! The blending, the embossing, and the ink lifting all worked so well together! Super job and so happy to see you at Just Us Girls this week Karen!

The blue and purple tones contrast beautifully with the white embossed floral background Karen, and a great large white die cut sentiment too which finishes it perfectly. x
