Sparkle- The Flower Challenge

Welcome
A new month means a new theme at

This month we are being sponsored by Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps. They are very generously giving our lucky winner an e-gift certificate for $25. Please check out their site as there are some fab crafty things to be seen there.
Our Guest Designer this month is the very talented Nancy Penir from 'artful-notions', our previous winner for March. Do check out her blog if you have a minute as she makes such fabulous cards.

So onto my card details.
If you have read my past blog posts, I have been on a mission to use some of the inked backgrounds I have in my stash.  This bkg was one I created awhile ago using the marble technique.  Basically, you fill a shallow pan with some water, drop some nail polish onto the water and then lay your paper over the water surface.  The paper will pick up the nail polish and you will have an instant background made.

I die cut the Plush Poinsettia Corner from heavy white cardstock and then glued it over the marbled bkg.  I cut a frame using the Hemstitch dies and placed the frame over the background inked piece.
I simply mounted that onto a heavy white card base.
I stamped the sentiment then silver heat embossed it and pop dotted it over my flower bkg.
As a finishing touch, I spread some Crystal Nuvo drops over the flower petals to give it some great sparkle then you can't really see in the pictures.

Thanks so much for coming and taking a look.  I hope you get a chance to come and play along with us.

  1. That background is fabulous, Karen. I don't know how the colors were in just the right places for the poinsettia die but it worked out magically.
