Relax- Scrape Painting

Welcome
A few months ago, as I was playing with my acrylic paints, I created this card:
Well today, I'm happy to say that Splitcoast Stamper has decided to feature it on their Technique Tutorial Wednesday!  I wrote up the tutorial so that you all have a chance to try it out.
There are lots of wonderful samples there for you to check out as well as Dina Kowal created a video using the technique.
Above is the card I created for the premiere.
Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial

So here are my card details.
I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock.  I squeezed out drops of paint onto my card panel, then using a Stencil Pal (or you could use a credit card); I moved the paint in a circular motion until I had the paint spread out.  Be sure to let your panel dry completely before doing the next steps.
When my panel was all dry, I placed it into my Misti and stamped the thistle, then the sentiment and clear heat embossed them.
I added some black acrylic paint splatters for interest.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
I hope you will give it a try.

Supplies
Stamps- Art Journey (Nature Flowers)
Inks- Versafine Clair Black
Paper- heavy white (Scribes Nook)
Accessories and Tools- Acrylic Paint (Vicki Boutin, Liquidex); Misti; Deco Foil Stencil Pal;
clear eb powder; heat tool

  3. What a great technique Karen, and swirling the paint in a circular motion really draws the eye in, and I love the two silhouette flowers and a lovely large sentiment too. A beautiful card. x

  8. Hi Karen--I saw your tutorial today & I already made some panels! Your wonderful card truly inspired me! I always intend to try neat ideas, but it never happens the same day. Now to make them into cards!

  9. Lovely version of your great technique. I was so surprised when my Split Coast tutorial arrived and I saw this along with your name! I think the colours you choose make a big difference and this one is fab. Mine were AWFUL. Really must try again if I can find some nice, soft colours. Most of mine are 'in your face' brights at the moment!
Congratulations on your guest appearance :-)
