'Orange' You Glad it's Summer- The Flower Challenge

Good Morning.
You have a few more days left to play along with us at
The Flower Challenge

Our Guest Designer this month is Mac Mable from thesweetestofpeas. Do check out her blog if you have a minute as she makes such fabulous cards.

I chose summer for the theme of my card and here is what I did.

1.  Using a piece of heavy white cardstock, I brayered some orange, yellow and red acrylic paint onto a large piece of cardstock, blending the colours and covering the whole piece.
2.  When the brayered piece was completely dry, I cut the main panel to fit the card base as the background.
3.  I placed the leftover painted piece into my Misti and stamped the Lotus flower twice using some Versafine Clair ink, then I clear heat embossed them.
4.  Using my white Posca pen, I added some white details to the flowers and splattered them as well.
5.  While the flowers dried, I die-cut the white panel with a stitched die and stamped the sentiment.
6.  I fussy cut out the flowers then I assembled the card, pop dotted the flowers in place and added 3 black gems for interest.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

  1. This is a great idea to colour a large piece of card and use it for the background and the flowers Karen, and the shades of orange and red are so summery, and the white stitched rectangle works beautifully in between the background and the pretty fussy cut flowers. x
