Snowflake Greetings

Welcome
Today, I am happily making more cards for the holidays.
I just love this Big Snowflake stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  It is large so fits the front of a card just perfectly.  If you have never checked out the stencils at ACLD, I do encourage you to have a look.  So many great designs at a very reasonable price.  You will also get a discount if you use my code at the bottom.

So onto my card details.
  • I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and got out my supplies; Gel Plate, brayer, Distress Oxide inks, Brushos, stencil, paintbrush
  • I brayered on some Salty Ocean, Broken China and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink onto my Gel Plate blending all the colours together.
  • To add more interest, I splattered some diluted Brushos all over the plate, then also splattered with water using a paintbrush.
  • I laid down the Big Snowflake stencil and then rubbed my cardstock over the top and lifted the print.
  • While that dried, I stamped the sentiment from the Old Island Stamp Company with Versamark and white heat embossed it.
  • I pop dotted the sentiment over the center of the snowflake, then added some red gems to bring out the red in the bkg.
  • I simply mounted the panel on a piece of matching cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

  1. Karen, you are getting better and better at the Gelli plate backgrounds! Love this one with the addition of the brushes and water splatters - great winter look. I’m saving it as a technique to try.

  7. Lovely card and great idea to start working on cards for the holidays now. I keep meaning to do Halloween artwork, but so far I've only done a few. (It's a Blue Moon this year, on Halloween.)
