Welcome
Meet today's card.
Today, I am combining 2 newly releases stencil from ACLD.
The background one is called Shaped Ball and the hands are part of the Happy Caps stencil.
It's fun to try and incorporate 2 stencils together to make them work on a card.
So here's what I did to create my card.
- I began by cutting a piece of white cardstock and positioned the Shaped Ball stencil over that. I got out 3 colours of Distress Oxide inks: Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and some Peacock Feathers.
- I began inking in the middle of the stencil with the Mustard Seed and blended out from there, finishing with the blue along the outside edges.
- I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
- I die cut the 'Cheers' from black cardstock 3 times and glued them together. I find by layering the dies, the sentiment has a lot more presence.
- When the stenciled card front was dry, I placed the Happy Caps stencil over that, positioning it just along the bottom. This stencil is a graduation stencil, but since I don't have any graduates, I wanted to use just the hands.
- I glued the finished panel onto a 4 1/4" card front, then glued on the Cheers die cut.
Here are the stencils I used:
