Nautilus

Hello and Welcome
When I saw this new Nautilus stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, I couldn't wait to play with it.
I thought about how I wanted to add colour to it and decided to try something a bit different.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by cutting a piece of white cardstock that was 3 3/4" square.
  • I positioned the Nautilus stencil over my cardstock on my Make Art Station and got out some Brushos that I haven't played with in forever. For those of you that are unfamiliar with Brushos, they are highly pigmented powders that are activated by adding water.
  • I sprinkled some blue and green Brushos onto a scrap piece of acetate (for easy clean up), sprayed with water to activate and then I used a baby wipe to press the ink onto the paper over the stencil.  The powders gave such a beautiful blend of colours.
  • I dried the panel, then placed it into my Misti to stamp the sentiment.
  • To add more interest, I splattered with my black Posca pen, then glued the finished panel onto some black cardstock and finally onto a white card base.
  • I added 3 silver gems around the sentiment.

Here is the stencil I used:

  1. A very effective stencil Karen, but afraid not eligible at Stamping Sensations as we are a stamping challenge and as per our rules just a stamped sentiment is not sufficient.

  3. That nautilus shell stencil is gorgeous Karen and I love the added Brushos using a baby wipe to apply the wet inks, not something I would have thought to do but it has worked brilliantly, and a great added sentiment and silver gems. x
