Hello June

Welcome
It's an exciting day as we start a new month with a wonderful new lineup of stencils.
So I'd like you to meet 2 new ones for June from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by getting out my Gel Plate and pressed my Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink pad directly onto the plate.  I used a brayer to spread the ink flat and then placed the Gear Mask over the plate.
  • I used a scrap piece of paper and rubbed over the stencil to remove some of the ink, lifted the stencil off and rubbed a piece of white cardstock over the plate to lift the print.
  • Next, I rubbed some Dusty Concord DOX ink onto the plate, brayered it smooth and placed the Connected Cogs stencil onto my plate.  I repeated the above process and finally rubbed the previously inked cardstock right over the top, layering the print. It turned out very pretty.
  • I inked up the stamp with the same colours used above, sprayed with a bit of water and then stamped it onto a piece of white cardstock. I splattered it with my white Posca pen.
  • I glued the gel plate print onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto a piece of purple, then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to add the thistle over the middle of my card front.
  • I inked another scrap of white cardstock and used that to die cut the sentiment. I die cut it a few times, glued them together and glued that to my card front.

Here are the stencils I used:

  3. Two more great stencils Karen and love the softer Gear Mask peeking though the stronger colour of the Connected Cogs over the top, and I love the soft watery effect using the Thistle stamp with the two colours used in the background on the stamp with a spray of water to soften the look and finished with the large 'friend' die cut sentiment in the pink/purple tones which coordinates beautifully and little white spattering too...a wonderful card. x
