Morning.
It's that time of year again when we talk a lot about 'LOVE'.
The challenge at Splitcoast today is called just that, L-O-V-E. The challenge though, is not to use a heart on our card but to think outside of the box and create a card with elements using the letters of the word.
So here is what I came up with.
I began by masking the edges of my heavy weight white cardstock and the center area using tape. I like the look of a fresh, crisp, white border.
Next, I attached my Shattered Glass stamp from Local King onto my MISTI. I painted on some Brushos that I had mixed with water and stamped. I repeated that process until I was happy with the results of colour on my paper. Leaving the masks in place, I took a wet paintbrush and pulled some of the colour on the outlines into the white areas to help blend the colours and to give a more watercoloured look.
I then removed the masks and added a panel with the Happy Birthday sentiment stamped onto it with pop dots.
I think it makes for a great card for a guy.
So here was my take on the challenge:
L - Layered- I layered the colours by first painting Brushos onto my
stamp
then stamping and painting again until I had the colours I wanted.
The sentiment is also layered over the front panel.
O- Outlines- I pulled the colours from the outlines of the stamp to paint in the
background with a wet paintbrush.
V- Violet- was the colour I used on the bottom portion of my card
E- Explosion- The explosion of colour. and embossing- the birthday sentiment
was heat embossed.
Adding my card to these challenges:
Just Add Ink- ADD 'V'
Sweet Stampin- CLEAN and SIMPLE
Crafting With Friends- ANYTHING GOES
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
