Good Morning.
It's time for a new card for
The Flower Challenge
This month's theme is Anything Goes.
Spring is blooming and the poppies are such a happy, welcome sight.
I picked up this wonderful stamp back in April at Scrapfest and wanted to ink it up.
I began by masking my watercolour paper with painter's tape. Just a reminder, if you are using this tape remove some of the tack or it will tear your paper. Nothing worse then finishing a card front, removing the tape and ripping the edges.
I inked my stamp inside my Misti with black ink and stamped. I added clear embossing powder over the image and heat set it. Next, I coloured them using my Zigs. I like to put some colour on the base of my flowers then using a wet paintbrush, pull the colour up into the top of the image.
I stamped the sentiment and then used some Distress ink to sponge the edges, removed the painter's tape and mounted the piece onto a red cardstock base.
Thanks so much for coming by to take a look.
I hope you will come play along with us.

Your poppies are so beautifully watercolored with your Zigs. Love your soft sponging around the edges and masked framing. Did I mention your beautiful sentiment? CAS Flower Perfection my friend. Hugs...
Beautiful card !
Beautiful card, Karen! Love those poppies. Thanks for joining us this week at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges. Love seeing you in the gallery.
Karen, I love your water coloring! The soft green behind those poppies really make them stand out. Your sentiment is just lovely.
Such a gorgeous card and I love those poppies. Your coloring is perfect for them.
Beautiful card, my friend. Love the bright red flower paired with the soft green. xx

Karen, you've brought the images to life with your soft background wash of colour and the exquisite watercolouring of the poppies. The Distress inks at the edges really adds to the border of the masked area. Love the sentiment. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
Beautiful card, Karen! Those poppies just pop off the card!
What striking poppies, and that is a gorgeous bright red Karen. I love the masking and the pretty green you have used which complements the red perfectly. A great sentiment too. x

Thank you for sharing with us at 'Crafty Purple Frog' this month, good luck!
Hugs Shell xx
Karen, I love now you framed your beautiful poppies with the light green color, this intensifies the brightness of their color.
The sentiment is one of the most beautiful I've ever read!! and thank you for the tip about the painter's tape, I've learn the hard way about how it can tear your paper. Also, when you remove the tape, do it slowly and towards you, making sure you bend it close to the paper, this minimizes the chance of any ripping.
Hugs,
Maria.
Gorgeous red poppies and i love how you created your distress inks background. Truly beautiful card! Thanks for the inspiration.
This is so beautiful.
Your colouring is perfect and I love how you created the effect of some soft light shining through the centre.
A bautiful card with a lovely poppies and fab sentiment! Marlies
What a beautiful bright and bold poppy. I agree with you on the painter's tape. I always stick mine to my trousers and peel it off to take away some of the tack before I use it and I have also been known to reuse bits if they've not ripped themselves - I've had so many destroyed projects before. Gorgeous card. xx
Such a vivid red! The card is wonderful but that sentiment takes the cake.
I love the frame around the panel and the inking makes it really stand out, Karen. There are some papers that still rip even after using the tape numerous times on other paper and it is so aggravating.
Such lovely bright colors Karen and wonderful sentiment.
Hugs Diane
Wow, Karen this card is really gorgeous! So summerish and vibrant!

A gorgeous sentiment to a beautifully colored poppy field!!! I like that you didn't color the petals completely! It gives the image a lovely loose look!
