Cruising On By

Good Morning
Today's card came to be after I found this stenciled panel using the Primitive Batik stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  It reminded me of waves in the water.
Just a fun, simple card.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I found this stenciled panel in my stash using the Primitive Batik stencil.  I am guessing at the colours I used...I forgot to write them on the back.  I think from top to bottom I started with Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, Blueprint Sketch, then some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink along the bottom.
  • I looked at the stenciled and panel and wondered how I could make it more interesting and use it as a scene.  I decided to cut it apart along one of the stenciled lines.
  • Next, I glued the top part that I had cut, flat onto a white cardstock panel.
  • I added foam tape to the bottom section and put it in place on the panel.  Just by raising it up, improved the look I was going for.
  • I stamped the boat with some black Versafine Clair and fussy cut it out.  I stamped the sentiment in the word bubble and cut that out as well.
  • I pop dotted the word bubble and the boat over the stenciled panel.
  • Finally, I glued it onto a heavy white card base to finish off my A2 size card.

Courage

Welcome
I'm back today with a card using this beautiful Layered Mixed Butterfly stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.
A very simple card made using my Gel Plate.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by cutting a piece of white cardstock and then got out my Gel Plate.
  • I pressed some Peacock Feathers and some Broken China Distress Oxide ink onto my plate and then used a brayer to smooth it all out.
  • I placed the Layered Mixed Butterfly onto the plate and gently pressed it into the plate using the rounded end of a paintbrush, being sure the stencil made good contact with the plate.
  • Then, I carefully removed the stencil, lifting off some of the ink and rubbed my piece of cardstock onto the plate to lift the print.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • When the print was dry, I placed it into my Misti to stamp the sentiment.
  • I glued the print onto a piece of checked cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.

Four Roses

Hello and Welcome
Today, I am featuring another new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Four Roses.
It is so easy to make a quick card using it too.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and then positioned the Four Roses stencil over that on my Waffle Flower stencil mat.
  • I pulled out 2 of my favourite Distress Oxide inks; Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers.  I inked over the stencil starting with the flower centers and moving outwards to the petals with the darker shade of blue, keeping my card very monochromatic.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I pulled out a piece of navy cardstock and cut the sentiment out on that and then on a piece of white.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of matching blue cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.
  • I glued the sentiment over that and finally added 3 navy gems around the sentiment.
