Today's card features another new for April stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

WAVY HEXAGONS

Here's what I did to create my card.

• I placed the Wavy Hexagons stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Broken China Distress Oxide ink.
• I moved the stencil down slightly over the pattern and inked again with some Prize Ribbon DOX ink. It created a fun look to the stenciled image.
• I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
• I placed the sentiment into my Misti and stamped with some more of the Prize Ribbon DOX ink.  I die cut that out and glued it onto a blue die cut hexagon.
• I glued my stenciled card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then blue and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
• I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment over the middle of my card front.

Good Morning

Today's card was done by layering up 2 newly released stencils for April from A Colorful Life Designs called:

SLANTED CHEVRON and ARROWS

So, here's what I did to create my card.

• I placed the SLANTED CHEVRON stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked that up with some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
• Leaving that stencil in place, I put the ARROWS stencil over that and inked with some Lumberjack Plaid DOX ink.
• To add more interest, I used a dot die and cut along the white lines of the panel.
• I glued my stenciled card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then orange and then onto a 4 1/4" white card base.
• I found this scrap piece of Alcohol inked paper in my stash and used it to cut my sentiment. I added that over the middle of my card front to finish off my card.

I'd like you to meet 2 new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called:

SPOTLIGHT and DASHING CIRCLE

By doing some stencil layering, I was able to create a super fun design.

So, here's what I did to create my card.

• I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed the Spotlight stencil over my paper then inked it up with some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
• I removed that stencil and placed the Dashing Circles stencil over that, matching up the circle designs and inked again with some Villainous Potion DOX ink. What a fun pattern it made!
• I die cut a circle from the middle of my stenciled panel and glued it onto a purple die cut circle.  
• Next, I stamped the sentiment in my Misti and die cut that out with a circle die.
• I glued my stenciled panel onto a piece of purple cardstock and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
• I popped the die cut circle back over my card front, matching up the pattern and then glued the sentiment over that.

Meet another one of the newly released stencils for April from A Colorful Life Designs called:

THREE Xs

This stencil can be used is so many different ways; inked then cut apart along the lines, overlapping inking, stencil layering....so many ideas. 

For today though, I kept it simple by inking and adding a die cut frame.

So, here's what I did to create my card.

• I placed the THREE Xs stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked just across the middle with some Broken China Distress Oxide ink. Next, I inked with some Cracked Pistachio DOX and then along the bottom and top edges I used more of the Broken China ink.
• While that dried, I did cut the frame with some black cardstock and set aside.
• I took a scrap of white paper and inked it with the above mentioned colours and used that to die cut the sentiment.
• I glued the black frame over my stenciled card front and then glued that onto an A2 sized card base.
• I glued the 'friend' sentiment over the frame and added some silver gems to finish off my card.

Good Morning

Today's simple card was created using one of the new for April stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called:

ARROWS

This is how I created my card.

• I placed the Arrows stencil just along the bottom edge of my card front and inked it up with some Broken China Distress Oxide ink.
• I cleaned the stencil off and placed it along the top edge of my card front panel and inked again with some Cracked Pistachio DOX ink.
• When I looked at the stenciled panel, I felt it needed something more, so I used my white Posca pen to add some dots and lines over the stenciled areas and set that aside to dry.
• I die cut the 'Hello' with some blue cardstock and then I glued the word shadow with white cardstock 5 times and glued those all together as I wanted a raised sentiment without having to use foam tape.
• I glued my stenciled card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then blue that matched the sentiment and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
• I glued the 'Hello' over to the side and then to finish my card off, I added 3 blue gems around the sentiment.

I'd like you to meet the new for April stencil called 

DOTTY HARLEQUIN

It is just one of the many fun designs from A Colorful Life Designs.

So, I pulled out 2 colours of ink and got busy making my card.

• I began by placing the DOTTY HARLEQUIN stencil over a piece of white cardstock on an angle and then inked it up with some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
• I wiped the stencil off and placed it back down over the white spaces left behind and then inked again with some Picked Raspberry DOX ink, creating a fun background.
• Next, I took another piece of white cardstock and inked the top part with more of the Ripe Persimmon ink and the bottom with the Picked Raspberry.  I used that to die cut my sentiment and then glued it onto the white word shadow. 
• I glued my stenciled card front panel onto a piece of white, then orange then onto a 4 1/4" square card base.
• I cut out a white square frame and glued that over the panel and popped the sentiment inside the frame to finish off my card.

Good Morning

It's an exciting new month and so many great new stencils at A Colorful Life Designs.

So, meet the newly released stencil called:

Diamond Circle

This is how I created my card.

• I placed the Diamond Circle stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Picked Raspberry and some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
• I die cut the star from a piece of black cardstock and then again from my stenciled piece.
• I glued the black outline die cut onto a piece of white cardstock and then I glued the pieces of the stenciled panel into the star, matching up the pattern.
• While that dried, I stamped and die cut the sentiment and the black circle.
• I glued the star onto a 4 1/4" white card base.
• I glued the black circle over the middle and used some foam tape to pop up the sentiment over the circle.

This is going to be a very exciting month with all the new releases at A Colorful Life Designs.

So many great designs with so many possibilities.  

So meet the newly released stencil called:

SPOTLIGHT

Here's what I did to create this fun and simple card.

• I placed the SPOTLIGHT stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink.
• I wiped the stencil off and shifted it, then inked again with some Blueprint Sketch DOX ink. It gave a fun, layered look to the background.
• Next, I cut the sentiment right from the middle of my stenciled panel and I cut the word shadow from a piece of white cardstock. The sentiment was a bit lost against the background, so I inked over it with some more of the Cracked Pistachio ink and then I used a blue marker to trace over the letters.
• I glued my stenciled card front to a piece of pale blue cardstock and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
• I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment up over the background, matching it up with the pattern.

Spotlight Debossing

It's my turn to host the TLC over at Splitcoast Stampers this week.

The technique we will be trying out I'm calling:

SPOTLIGHT EMBOSSING

So, here's what I did to create my card.

• I began by looking through my coloured cardstock until I found 2 complimentary colours.
• Using a rectangle die, I cut from both pieces.
• I took out this flower Embossing Folder and placed the blue sheet down first and fitted the small green die cut inside that and ran it through my machine inside the folder. BE SURE AND USE THE DEBOSS SIDE OF YOUR FOLDER.
• I glued the pieces onto a base, matching up the embossed pattern, debossed side up.
• Holding my black ink pad flat against the surface, I covered the whole card with black ink and set that aside to dry.
• I die cut the sympathy sentiment in black and glued that onto the white word shadow.
• I glued the card front panel onto a piece of green cardstock and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
• Lastly, I used some foam tape to add the sentiment across the front of my card and added a black gem to dot the 'i'.

One Stencil~ 2 Cards

Good Morning

Today, I am again playing with the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called 

THREE FEATHERS

Both cards use the same colours and technique on my Gel Plate.

So, here's what I did to create my cards.

• I began by getting out my Gel Plate. I like to use my Distress Oxide inks on my plate....super easy cleanup.  So, I got out my Cracked Pistachio and my Broken China DOX pads and pressed the ink directly onto the plate. Using my brayer, I blended the colours together.
• I placed one of the feathers from the Three Feathers stencil onto my plate and then rubbed over it with a piece of white cardstock to pick up the print.  YOU CAN SEE THAT IN CARD #2
• I removed the stencil and then rubbed over the plate again with another piece of white cardstock. CARD #1
• I took CARD #1 and stenciled the feather using the same ink colours right over to the side of the print.
• I stamped the same sentiment on both cards and then added them to white A2 sized card bases.

Hello and Good Morning

Today' card features another one of the newly released stencils for March from A Colorful Life Designs called;

MUSIC

So here's what I did to create my card.

• I found some fun cardstock papers in my stash that I had picked up at the Dollar Store awhile ago but hadn't used. I began by picking out the paper I wanted to use for the cover and die cut the little album cover first.  
• I placed the new MUSIC stencil over the cover and inked it up with some Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink. I splattered with my white Posca pen just over the sentiment and set aside to dry.
• Next, I die cut the record from a piece of black cardstock and glued the blue middle die cut to the center of it. (You can't see it in the photo, but the die actually puts the grooves in the record)
• I picked out another piece of the cardstock and glued it to a piece of white and then a piece of blue and the onto a white A2 sized card base.
• I glued the record album cover over the background and slipped the record into the sleeve.

Today's monochrome card features the new for March stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

MUSIC

So here's what I did to create my card.

• I got out a piece of linen paper, it has texture and gives a bit of a mottled look when inking. I used the MUSIC stencil and inked it with some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink across the top part of my white card base.
• Next, I placed the piece into my Misti to stamp the flowers and all the details around the edges of my card using Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink.  I also stamped the sentiment in the open area above the flowers.
• I used the ink left on my blending brush and added more colour just across the middle of my card front to add more interest and take down the stark white.
• I glued the piece onto white cardstock, then a pale mauve  and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
