Four Squares

Hello and Welcome
I had fun playing with this newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my simple card.
  • I placed the Circles and Diamonds stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink.
  • I wiped the stencil off and moved it to the side and inked again with some Cracked Pistachio DOX ink right over the first design.
  • I took my stenciled pattern and cut it into 4 small squares and glued them onto a piece of navy cardstock.
  • I popped the squares up with some foam tape and then adhered them to a white 4 1/4" square card base.
  • I stamped the sentiment, die cut it with a circle die and used some more foam tape to pop it over the center of my card front.

Here is the stencil I used:

Time to Celebrate

Good Morning

This month is just flying by and A Colorful Life Designs has a mid-month release of a new stencil called:

I decided to do a torn paper technique using the stencil.
So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I secured my Chaos Squares stencil in place with some tape over a piece of white cardstock as I wanted to be able to lift it up and down like a hinge when inking the pattern.
  • I took a piece of scrap paper and tore it into strips and placed one of the strips near the top edge and inked it with some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
  • I lifted the stencil up, removed the torn paper and placed another piece along the next section and inked again this time using some Abandoned Coral and Fossilized Amber DOX.
  • I repeated that process working my way down my card front until my white cardstock was all inked up.
  • I die cut a circle right from my card front and then glued it onto a larger black circle. I die cut the dandelion twice and glued that over the circle.
  • I stamped the sentiment into the corner of my card front in my Misti.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then orange and then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the die cut circle back into place matching up the pattern.
  • Finally I added some orange gems to the flower centers to finish my card off.

Here is the stencil I used:
p.s....It's on sale right now!!

Wishing You Well

Hello and Welcome
Today's card is a simple one to create.
I used the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's how I created my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed the Mid Century Breeze Squares stencil over that.
  • I wanted to make each square a different colour, so I masked off the first one and inked with some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • I moved the mask and inked again with some Peacock Feathers DOX ink.  I repeated that same process again, inking this time with some Wilted Violet DOX.
  • I removed the stencil and I used the Hemstitch die to cut a frame around the edge.
  • I die cut the sentiment with some purple cardstock, then some white cardstock 4 more times as I wanted to make a stacked sentiment.
  • I glued my stenciled card base onto a piece of white cardstock, then purple, then finally onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I glued the sentiment over the middle area of my card base and added 3 purple gems around it.

Here is the stencil I used:

For the Guys

Welcome
Today's card is featuring a fun new stencil for June from A Colorful Life Designs called:
Great stencil for making more masculine looking cards. I used it with an older release called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began with a piece of white cardstock on my Make Art Station.  I placed the Square Cutout stencil down and inked over that with some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
  • Leaving that stencil in place, I put the Gears stencil right over the top and inked it up again with some Dusty Concord DOX ink.
  • Next, I splattered the panel with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I cut out the 'hello' sentiment 5 times from white cardstock and glued them together to create a stacked look.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of purple cardstock and then onto a white A2  sized card base.
  • I cut 2 squares using a stitched square die and glued them into the middle area, added my sentiment last, over that.

Here are the stencils I used:

Four Squares

Welcome
Here's another new for April stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called
I decided to use it to make a monochromatic card.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and put the Four Squares stencil over that, centering it onto the cardstock.
  • Next, I inked it up using Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass, Blueprint Sketch and some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks.
  • I removed the stencil and splattered with my white Posca pen, then set aside to dry.
  • I inked up a scrap piece of white cardstock using the same colours as mentioned above, then die cut the sentiment.  I die cut the sentiment shadow from a piece of vellum and glued the two together.
  • I glued the stenciled card front onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I glued the sentiment into the center and added a dark blue gem for the dot on the 'j'.

Good Morning and Welcome

Today's card is featuring 2 of the new stencils for this month called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and placed the 16 Square Shadow stencil over my panel.  I inked over that with some Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink to fill in the squares, then added a bit of Tumbled Glass DOX ink along the edges just to add a bit more interest.
  • Leaving that stencil in place, I put the Scandinavian Flowers stencil over it and inked it up with some Rustic Wilderness DOX ink.
  • I splattered the whole panel with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • While that dried, I stamped and then die cut the sentiment.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of black cardstock, then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment up over to the side.

I Will Be With You

Good Morning
Meet today's card featuring this exciting new Layered Squares Mandela stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.
It sure is a fun one to play with and comes with 3 layering stencils to use together or by themselves...so many possibilities.  I decided to use just 2 of the stencils together for my card.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and positioned the Layered Squares Mandela stencil Part #1 over my cardstock and inked that up with some Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide ink.
  • I removed that stencil and replaced it with Stencil #2 of that set but this time, I used a baby wipe and some Villainous Potion DOX ink to apply the colour.  Just rub some ink onto a piece of acetate and pick up the colour with the wipe.  It gives such a different effect and look to the inking.
  • Next, I removed the stencil and to add more interest, I splattered with my white Posca pen.
  • I placed the stenciled panel into my Misti and stamped the sentiment into the corner and clear heat embossed it.
  • I glued the piece onto some pale purple cardstock, then onto and A2 card base.

Always Better with You

Good Morning
Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Today's card features such a fun stencil called Square Frames.  It is another one of the great newly released stencils from A Colorful Life Designs for February.
This one is so fun as the squares overlap each other.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and positioned the Square Frames stencil over that.
  • I began at the center of the stencil and inked it up with some Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink.
  • I moved outwards with the inking adding some Carved Pumpkin next and then some Picked Raspberry around the edges.
  • I placed the stenciled panel into my Misti and stamped over it with the background lines using more of the Picked Raspberry DOX ink. (This stamp only has a number on it and no name.  I can't find it on the Hero Arts site so it may be discontinued?)
  • Next, I splattered with my white Posca pen and dotted the circles to add interest.
  • While that dried, I stamped the sentiment in my Misti and then die cut it out.
  • I glued the dried panel onto an A2 sized card base and pop dotted the sentiment in the center.
