Magical Season

Good Morning

In the midst of holiday card making, I have been trying to organize the many backgrounds that I have stashed away for future use.  I have been determined to put some of them to good use and that is how this card was born.

So, I pulled out this Brusho inky background, put on my thinking cap and got to work on making a card.
I figured out what I wanted my card layout to look like, placed a piece of heavy white cardstock into my Misti and stamped the blue stripe down along the side.
Using my ScorBug, I scored a line of dots along the stamped edge.  I cut my Brusho piece down to fit onto the rest of my card front, then got out the deer to die-cut.  To add more interest to the deer, I die cut it twice, glued it together and embossed it.  I love how it turned out.
I stamped the sentiment, glued on the deer then added it all to a heavy white card base.

I'm glad I finally put this piece to good use.

Woodland Friends

Good Morning.
Time for a super simple card, one that could be easily reproduced in different colours.
I was so thrilled at how this background stamp married with this great die.

So onto my card details.
I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and placed it into my Misti.
Next, I inked up the Polka Dot Grunge stamp with some Memento gray ink and stamped onto my paper.  While that dried, I die cut the deer twice and glued them together.  This die is an ornament but I decided to cut off the top portion before gluing it over the dot background.
Using my Misti again, I stamped the sentiment from Penny Black along the bottom of my card.
I mounted the front panel onto a piece of gray cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Snowflakes and Stitches

Hello and Welcome
I'm really enjoying creating Christmas cards, sure hope you are too.
This cards started out totally different.  When I messed up part of it and had to cut it down, this card happened.  I actually like it better then what I had originally planned....gotta love that!

I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock.  I placed the Heart Flakes stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over my paper and using some DOX inks, stencilled in the bkg.
I took the Outline Snowflakes stamp, placed it into my Misti and stamped over the stencilled bkg. using black ink.
To add some extra interest, I used the Hemstitch die to cut a rectangle over the stencilled/stamped bkg.
I die-cut the sentiment twice and glued it together.
When I put my card together, I thought it needed something more so I used a white Sakura pen to add in the stitched lines on the edges.  The finishing touch was to add the square jewel to the center of the largest snowflake.

Gather in Love

Hello
I wanted to get a chance to play with this wonderful Skeleton Leaf stencil and this great sentiment from Impression Obsession. They just seemed to go together well.
I love this time of year when we are reminded about all we need to be thankful for.

I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and positioned the leaf over the top securing it with some Pixie Spray.  Pixie Spray is a repositionable spray for use with stencils.
Next, I took a baby wipe and squeezed on a small amount of Peeled Paint Distress Re-inkers onto it.  ** Wear rubber gloves to prevent your hands from being all inky**
I took the inked baby wipe and pressed it onto my stencil.  Still using the same wipe, I squeezed on some Peacock Feathers DI and repeated the process.  I find this technique gives the inked background a more subtle look, more hand painted.  I added a bit of Salty Ocean and let the piece dry.
When it was dry, I splattered the front with some more ink, then stamped the sentiment using my Misti.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
