Magical Season

Good Morning

In the midst of holiday card making, I have been trying to organize the many backgrounds that I have stashed away for future use.  I have been determined to put some of them to good use and that is how this card was born.

So, I pulled out this Brusho inky background, put on my thinking cap and got to work on making a card.
I figured out what I wanted my card layout to look like, placed a piece of heavy white cardstock into my Misti and stamped the blue stripe down along the side.
Using my ScorBug, I scored a line of dots along the stamped edge.  I cut my Brusho piece down to fit onto the rest of my card front, then got out the deer to die-cut.  To add more interest to the deer, I die cut it twice, glued it together and embossed it.  I love how it turned out.
I stamped the sentiment, glued on the deer then added it all to a heavy white card base.

I'm glad I finally put this piece to good use.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Adding my card to these challenges:

I love how it turned out too! Just stunning!! I smiled as I read about using your stash of backgrounds...that's exactly what I did this year and I was thrilled how my cards turned out...AND I didn't have to create all these backgrounds for my Christmas cards...what a win-win!

Karen, your card is gorgeous! I love every one of those backgrounds your make with that technique. I really need to put some time in to give it a try. Maybe this weekend would be a good time to give it a go.

You always have the most gorgeous backgrounds Karen. So happy to see this artsy one with the white deer die-cut ... it's fantastic. Love the blue strip edging and the dotty scoring. xx
